Did You Watch 21 Jump Street?

The recent news about Jonah Hill writing a film adaptation of the 1980s TV series 21 Jump Street sent up warning flags a-plenty. First off, the assumption is that this movie will be a comedic version of the drama which, as EW points out, often used to include "earnest public service announcements." In fact, it might be a spoof version of 21 Jump Street, which doesn't sit right with me. Additionally, I can't imagine Johnny Depp will be involved in this film, and let's face it — he was one of the greatest parts of the show, if not the greatest.

Were you as addicted to 21 Jump Street as I was? What do you think about a film version spearheaded by Jonah Hill?

Johnny Depp didn't leave before the 3rd season was over, he left after season 4.

I was too young when it was aired, but I watch it all the time now! On Netflix, I almost finished watching all of season 2 and since Johnny Depp left before the 3rd season was over, I think I will probably stop watching it when I reach that last episode! But the whole cast of 21 Jumpstreet were awesome!

I tried to watch 21 Jump Street a few weeks ago, and it was awful. It was so cheesy that I had to change the channel.

I watch when my son 2yrs and now Iam watching on DVD and my son is 22yrs.Now this shouldn't have remakes because I don't think nobody can played the parts good like the ones played 21yrs ago.I wish they a reunion from Cap.Jenco and Cap Fuller and the 5 who played schoolkids.That will be awesome.

I don't remember every most details, but I remember that's where my crush on Johnny Depp began! I think I only watched a few episodes when Richard Greico showed up. Another fond childhood memory being destoyed.

catschi, I don't know where you live in Europe, but we did have it here in Germany in the late 80s/early 90s. I remember watching it. :)

a few months ago i downloaded the first season, but i just watched 10 episodes or so.... in europe the show was never on tv and for me, it was a little bit too 80's/90's... johnny, you tried hard, but even if you were the best part of the show, you couldn't make up for the rest of the crew (and story, oh my god, the story)... ;)

I really liked "21 Jump Street"! It did deal with important issues, but also had a sense of humour to it. To be honest I am sick of movie remakes. This will probably turn out to be just like the movie remake of "Dragnet", really stupid. Come on Hollywood, don't you have any imagination left?

I LOVED 21 jumpstreet and have loved Johnny Depp ever since. It was a good show and dealt with may sensitive issues- AIDS, rape etc I would hate to see it turned into some kind of spoof. Then again I have not seen it in years, so I dont know if I would now consider it cheesy, what i liked when i was a kid sometimes does not work for me as an adult

I remember this show being on, and I bet if I saw the intro I would 100% recognize it... but for some reason I cant remember an episode. Either way, I think a new film adaptation of it is ridiculous.
