Did Cloverfield Make You Puke?

Personally, I had a good time watching Cloverfield, and while the camera work is a bit nauseating at first, I didn't really have any urge to, well, barf. That doesn't appear to be the case for everyone though, and since its huge opening last weekend the movie has been plagued by some bad word of mouth. Zap2it reports one woman's rough experience immediately after watching the movie:

"I'm really nauseous right now — just hold on for a second," she said, before walking down the hall and retching into a trash can.

Wow. Some are actually predicting these reports might seriously affect ticket sales. So what about you: Did watching Cloverfield make you want to hurl?

This was a great movie!!! Filming was perfect!!! y dose a little bit of a shaky camera movements make this movie Terrible... if you couldnt watch this movie then how can you even drive in a car!!! or go on rides at amusement park... its not that bad... This was a perfect movie in every way!!!! 11/10!!!

i wasnt sure i wanted to see this because i get nauseous very easily. BUT lucky for me i took a chance and i didnt feel sick at all. i didnt see anyone else get sick either. oh, and i liked the movie. it couldve been better. but it was a good idea. i didnt expect it to be anything oscar-worthy lol

I felt a bit dodgy after seeing The Bourne Untimatum. I've been know to suffer from motion sickness do I'll probably have to pass on this.

I wanted to see it but I got sick watching Blair Witch Project, Little Children, and Bourne Ultimatum... I think Cloverfield will make me sick for sure. Bourne Ultimatum seriously made me want to murder the director.

OK, so what makes this movie so much more interesting is the viral videos and clues outside of the movie that helps you to figure out what happened and where the monster came from. I think this campaign was brilliant making the movie goer get more involved and search for answers on their own. Just got back from seeing this and it was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! It was off the hook! LOVED IT!!! I can't believe people have such sensitive stomachs. I didn't feel sick at all and I didn't see anyone get sick. I guess if you have motion sickness or prone to seizures then you shouldn't see it but it was really an awesome movie. They took the monster genre to a whole other lever. It felt so REAL!

the jittery videotaping was the fun of the movie. that's what made it so thrilling. it wasn't the monster or the mini-monsters. it was the fact that you were only seeing the story through one victim's eyes. what he saw is what you saw. incredible.

The last two Bourne movies made me motion sick, so I think I'll be sitting this one out. Fool me twice, shame on me. I won't fall for this again when I know how I'll react to it.

lol @ your title Buzz. I'll be watching it eventually. I wonder if the small screen is easier to handle that style of camera work. Blair Witch didn't bother me, but I didn't see it on the big screen.

the movie was pure fun entertainment! trying a little too hard to be youtube gen friendly, but man, all the elements of a fun movie. my bf and i couldn't stop talking about how fun it was and then rented 28 weeks later after! it was nonstop movie monsters for us. and what was that thing? that's the best part.

As soon as the movie started I had to close my eyes....I looked up maybe 5 or 6 times and still felt extremely extremely sick. I couldn't even watch the car chase scene in bourne ultimatum. I thought there was nothing great about the movie through the dialogue atleast. The characters weren't very likable and the entire movie is just "so different" because its filmed that way. Ya so the monster was scary and maybe the special effects were good, but since when do you judge a movie by how good the special effects were. The storyline was very basic once again pointing to the fact how the movie is just like hey look at my special way of filming and my CGI, so you overlook the lame story. Overall I think it was a waste of $10 and a movie that not only was bad, but literally made you sick.

I loved Cloverfield! It didn't even occur to me that people would need/want to puke from the camera -- until I was walking out and someone had done just that in the hallway out of the theater! Then I remembered the same thing happened with Blair Witch, and it sort of made sense.

I didn't get sick, but I sat kinda close and got a headache from it. I think I would have enjoyed the movie more if I had sat back further. So my advice is... sit back further in the theater than you normally do!
