Before being known to most as Natalie Portman's boyfriend, Devendra Banhart was famous in certain circles for turning out interesting neo-folk music and has been a mainstay in the independent music scene for a little while now.

His new video for his Spanish language song "Carmensita," has people talking partly because Ms. Portman's in it but also because some people aren't sure how awesome this cheeky swipe at Bollywood-style productions is. Do you find this video a fun rush to the senses, or totally forgettable?

I think people are missing the point here. Its not about whether you think natalie looks hot or not or about devendra's pubes sticking out. Pubes are natural get over it. The video is wonderful, it is artistic and did not cost millions to produce, no wasted money or energy that can be used elsewhere. Devendra speaks love and peace. He is not lady fucking gaga, or justin no pubes. These people are not idols, take a look at your lives, deeply, who are they benefiting other than the industry. Who is suffering, go on take a look. PEACE, fannyface, yes that is my fucking name.

it was ok, I have to admit it didnt catch my attention like i thought it would, i got bored halfway thru & stopped watching it. eh, & i love Natalie Portman usually!

I've always loved this song (it was released last year), and I think the video is funny as hell. Devendra is awesome, and kudos for him for not doing a typical "I'm-so-indie" video with water faucets and dead doves.

I don't know why, but I enjoyed it. I guess I like low-budget crap. haha. Besides, I'm a HUGE Natalie Portman fan, and she looks gorgeous as always.

Yeah, no thanks. It reminds me that I just don't buy Natalie Portman's "acting", I don't know why. She's in the ranks of Drew Barrymore and Winona Ryder for me- just embarrassing to watch. I'm kind of surprised to admit I thought the song was kind of cool though- if I hadn't seen the video along with it I might like it.

Aw, I guess I'm alone in thinking the video was kind of cute, in a ridiculous way. I don't know if anyone remembers it, but it reminds me of the movie, Serendipity, where Kate Beckinsale's boyfriend is a crazy Indie artist making an insane video. I think it's sweet that she's supporting her boyfriend, and there are a couple times during the video that it looks like she's about to crack up, which I find endearing. Plus, I think Devendra is crazy, smokin' hot, despite his sketchy wardrobe choices, so I guess I'm also alone in thinking the low-slung skirt with his junk peeking out was sexy. :lol:
