They beat out John Logan for Hugo, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, and Beau Willimon for The Ides of March, Steven Zaillian, Aaron Sorkin, and Stan Chervin for Moneyball, and Bridget O'Connor and Peter Straughan for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
