December is often saturated with two different types of film fare: award-season contenders and family-friendly films. Saving Mr. Banks, which will be released on Dec. 13, is one of the few movies that actually falls into both categories. The film already has Oscar buzz, and it's a Disney film about the real-life obstacles that Walt Disney faced when he tried to adapt Mary Poppins for the big screen. This year's batch of award-season bait has been particularly depressing, so I can't wait to see Tom Hanks in something a little more heartwarming than Captain Phillips.
