Box Office: The Dark Knight Rises Shuts Down Competition

Christopher Nolan's third Batman flick The Dark Knight Rises maintained its top spot at the box office in its second week of release. The film earned $64 million, bringing its total gross to a cool $289 million. Ice Age: Continental Drift came in at a distant second, earning $13.3 million, followed by new release The Watch, which took in $13 million. Fellow opener Step Up Revolution made $11.8 million, and the comedy Ted held onto fifth with $7.4 million. In other box office news, Magic Mike crossed the $100 million mark in its fifth week of release.
