Ryan Phillippe hit the streets in NYC last night filming Damages on location. He's been cast to portray an Internet activist, loosely based on WikiLeaks Editor in Chief Julian Assange, for the fifth and final season of the primetime drama. Ryan's not the only notable star joining the cast as Jenna Elfman's also committed to a reoccurring role. Work took a backseat to partying on Tuesday night when Ryan met up with Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Kanye West for an A-list soiree at Manhattan's Darby Downstairs. Ryan's reportedly been considering a part-time move to the Big Apple since last Spring, but with a new baby girl, Kailani, as well as his two older kids Ava and Deacon in California, he'll always have a base on both coasts.

TV Tonight: Greek and Damages Return
Tonight sees the return of two shows you said you were excited to see come back: Greek picks up the second half of its third season, while Damages begins its third season anew.
On Greek's episode, titled "I Know What You Did Last Semester," we get to see a happy Casey and Cappie back together, while Casey and the ZBZ girls try to cover up the fact that they might have burnt down the Gamma Psi House. What I really want to see, though, is the Fairytale Ball that Casey plans — expect lots of costumed cuteness from Cappie and Casey and Calvin and Grant (check out a sneak peek here).
Meanwhile, over on a very different series, Damages is back with not just intensity but some brand-new, recognizable cast members: Lily Tomlin, Martin Short, and Campbell Scott are all joining Glenn Close and Rose Byrne in the well-written and acted show. We haven't gotten a new episode since April's season two finale, but since then, much of the cast was nominated for Emmys, while Byrne and Close earned Golden Globe nods as well for their work on the show. Pardon the pun, but let's just say the bar has been raised yet again.
Which Show's Return Are You Most Looking Forward To?
Mid-season TV is about to rev up, and I couldn't be happier! I've already given you a sneak peek at what you can expect from the new season of Big Love and some insider scoop from Chuck's own Zachary Levi, but they're not the only shows that I'm marking on my calendar. Lost is especially high on my list of priorities; I cannot wait to see what tricks the writers are hiding for the final season. And I'm still holding out hope that more viewers get behind Damages. I have a bit of a soft spot for Patty Hewes, even if she is a cold-blooded killer.

There are lots of returning programs to choose from, so tell me — which has you excited?

What Is the Best Cable TV Drama of 2009?
Network television certainly doesn't have the market cornered on great TV shows anymore. In fact, many of prime time's most acclaimed dramas are found outside of your standard channels. Though the seasons may be shorter, it just makes them even sweeter. So which cable TV drama is your favorite?

Don't forget to vote on all of my Best of 2009 polls!
