Community has suffered some growing pains (not to mention big changes) in the past year, but now that it's back on the air, it seems to be hitting its stride again. I got a chance to catch up with Gillian Jacobs, who plays Britta on the show. We chatted about Britta's future with Troy and what will happen to the Greendale gang once graduation hits in Spring. Also coming up on Community? A Freaky Friday episode.
Community Previews an Upcoming Puppet Episode at PaleyFest
Greendale Community College was back in session last night as the stars of Community took over PaleyFest at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, and Alison Brie joined Danny Pudi, Joel McHale, and other castmates for a walk down the red carpet followed by a panel discussion. They kicked things off with a hilarious table read, which involved a bit of physical acting when Joel and Jim Rash decided to take their tango scene to the stage. The cast also revealed a few new guest stars this season, including James Brolin, who will play Jeff's dad, and Malcolm McDowell, who plays a professor. The stars also announced that their characters will be immortalized as puppets in an upcoming episode airing later this season, which fans got a preview of last night. Check out all of the highlights:

- Joel McHale and Jim Rash got up from the table read to bring their tango scene to life. The actors managed to balance their scripts, and each other, as they pulled off impressively awkward lifts with a whole lot of face caressing.
- Malcolm McDowell guest stars on an episode this season, and Joel and Jim went back and forth pretending to have had conversations with Malcolm about the other. Jim said Malcolm pulled him aside to ask what was wrong with Joel, claiming Malcom said, "Looking in his eyes is like looking at a blank page. Nothing is on it, and nothing will ever be on it." Joel replied by saying Malcolm came up to him and asked, "Why is Moby on the set?" The banter continued when both actors pretended to have him on the phone.
- Alison Brie and Danny Pudi broke into an impromptu song at the audience's request, and after a hysterical attempt, Danny said, "Maybe we should have rapped." When a question was brought up about Chevy Chase's departure, the two filled the silence by returning to the chorus of their funny duet.
- The panel ended with a first look at an upcoming episode where all of the characters will be puppets. The cast then got a surprise of their own when they were each handed their puppet replica. They all broke into acting out scenes with their puppets — Jim and Alison even let their characters get a little handsy for the audience's entertainment.
Watch Alison Brie Freestyle Rap on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon
You may be excited about the recent return of Community, but no one is as pumped as star Alison Brie. This week she went on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and when the host requested she showcase her rhyming skills — which costar Donald Glover, aka rapper Childish Gambino, has been helping her with — she agreed to do a little impromptu rap about Community. She starts out a little shaky, but by the end Brie's really feeling it. I give the girl props, but watch and let me know what you think!
Community Season Four Pictures: The Hunger Games and Beyond
Community is tonight, and we've missed the Greendale gang so — and this crop of pictures from the premiere reminds us why. There's a sexy, buff Jeff sweeping Britta off her feet, Dean Pelton in not one but two inappropriate costumes, and if you're not enticed yet, there's also the fact that the first episode is going to be Hunger Games-themed! Get a peek of that, and the rest of the pictures, now.
Video: Alison Brie on the Return of Community
Community returns tonight, and I recently chatted with star Alison Brie about Greendale's return to primetime. She talked about what it was like for the cast to have the show reshuffled so many times, and what we can expect to see in the upcoming episodes. Check it out:
Watch a Hunger Games-Inspired Scene From Community's New Season
We Community fans have been a very patient bunch — and come Feb. 7, the show will finally come back for its next season. To reward you for all the time spent apart from the comedy, here's a new clip from season four — and it's a Hunger Games spoof! Dean Pelton devises a way for the students to compete for registration and devises "The Hunger Deans," which obviously necessitates him to wear Katniss's Girl on Fire dress.
Watch the clip after the jump.

Community Moves to Fridays and More From NBC's New Fall Schedule

NBC is the first network to take center stage at the upfronts this week, which means we'll be hearing more about NBC's new Fall shows in the coming days. But for now, we've got your first peek at the new schedule. Most of NBC's veteran series are staying in their old time slots, but the network has also added The Voice to the Fall lineup, and notably moved Whitney and Community to Friday nights. This has me a bit worried about the fate of Community, since the show has been having a tough enough time as it is, but it could also be a vote of confidence that the comedy's loyal fan base will follow the Greendale gang wherever they go.

Community Renewed For Another Season
NBC had good news all around today — after renewing Parenthood and 30 Rock, they also had good news for Community, giving the comedy an additional season. It'll be a shortened season of 13 episodes (which is also what 30 Rock is getting when it returns), but as a fan of the show, I'll take what I can get, and I'm guessing you will too.
