Christina Aguilera Isn't Herself in Her New Music Video

Instead, she's a Madonna-Lady Gaga hybrid, clad in diamond dominatrix gear in her latest, "Not Myself Tonight." It's the first we've seen of Aguilera in a while, and she's out to climb her way back onto our radar — on all fours. Yikes. As she grinds up on dancers in her skivvies (watch for Jenna Dewan in the mix), I can't help but think she's trying too hard, even if the song is catchy. I don't get it, what's the big deal? There are rap videos left and right that are way more raunchy then this. It seems that Christina is experimenting in life and it shows in her music. I like the song and the video, everybody is being very over critical of her right now.

at first i thought i was watching lady gaga.. than realized it was xtina. I was in shock.. its not a music video meant for t.v....She should diff get her own style....

ehhh...she's is just SO MUCH BETTER than this! she has the best voice and range of any of the pop stars (gaga, madonna, britney)...hands down (with maybe the exception of mariah or celine dion-does she count as pop?? haha). why does she lower herself to this trashy, club-y music so often??

Stepping out on a limb...in the privacy of your own bedroom...even if all you do is put perfume on for your man...we all secretly have that wild side.That is what I got from this video. Many look at me and see a soccer mom, a medical professional, a writer, or just some silly redhead...but I can put the diva on just as well as the next woman. I know I have a wild side that nobody sees except my husband and he fully appreciates it.To me, this video reminds us that we can be all those things. Wild, imaginative, sexual, and every inch diva in our own way. To deny ourselves those different expressions within ourselves is limiting.I applaud Christina on this one. It is easy for someone to say she may have stepped over that line but that does not give her credit for her own "cheeky" look at the many faces of women. I see deeper meaning here.Madonna, Gaga and even male performers like Justine Timberline have shown the risque side of sexuality in music videos...many performers do this. There is a little naughty side to all of us... some perfume....kinky shoes....pretty underwear...one or all of these things reside in most women's bedrooms. Listen to the words to this song again and perhaps you may see this video with new eyes.

While I sort-of like the song, the video is horrible; not so much the topic but the way it came off as just trying far too hard to be "edgy" and in the "now". None of the moves seemed to flow effortlessly from Christina, instead it felt like a overdone act. Some of the get-ups seem a bit too similar to Gaga & Madonna; the backdrop with the dancers seemed to hark to Spears in Circus & "3". Overall a poor video from a known pop star; especially when compared to past efforts such as "Ain't No Other Man". Also the background dancers seemed more interesting to watch the Xtina herself; my focus was shifting since the dancers were more convincing in the movement.On a side note, I think I saw a few dancers from SYTYCD in the group though the camera did not focus long enough for me to really tell.

This video is very disturbing being a parent of a 11 month old boy I don't know how she can film this and not think of her son. It is hard to look at and very much as if she is trying very hard to do anything that is taboo. Only thing I do like about it is that is unique. Overal too sexual and it reminds me of Britney Spears doing a parody of a Madonna song

seriously with the gaga comparison? christina has always been outrageous and creative in her music and videos. just because gaga is the latest flash in the pan doesn't mean EVERYONE is trying to rip her off. especially not an artist that has been around and will be around way longer than her.

She is beautiful and looks great after baby. You have to stay with the times but still add your own touch to it. Reinvention is the name of the game. She can't come out doing a remix of Dirty. are you seriously serious? what the smack is that?!?! that is NOT sthg her lil boy would be proud of...WOW xXx-tina! wasn't expectin that...this world has lost its marbles. hell is really breaking loose. and it's not funny anymore. kids are becoming sexualized at an earlier age...NOT b/c they're being abused by an adult...but by crap like this... is this what its come down to? how/when can we really get back to the basics? very disappointed. and i'm so not a self-righteous but this is all sorts of wrong. esp for that lil boy that she says is so lovingly raising...this is NOT loving that boy.

catchy i guess, but it strikes me as a poor man's lady gaga. lady gaga is shocking but interesting. this is visually different but no story.... kinda gratuitous her round bangs remind me of gwen stefani
