MTV Movie Awards: Chloë Moretz

Chloë Moretz isn't afraid of having a little fun where fashion is concerned, and her MTV Movie Awards outfit choice is proof.

Chloë Moretz isn't afraid of having a little fun where fashion is concerned, and her MTV Movie Awards outfit choice is proof. The actress skipped fancier fare in favor of a Louis Vuitton patchwork denim minidress. Then, she accessorized with a dark green grommet-embellished waist belt and diamante-covered T-strap pumps. A playful styling coup, from head to toe. Does her ensemble do it for you?

Carrie Trailer: Chloë Moretz Has Teenager Problems, and Also Telekinesis

Though we'd seen a brief glimpse of the blood-covered title character of Carrie a few months ago, today we get a full trailer for the remake of the 1970s horror classic.

Though we'd seen a brief glimpse of the blood-covered title character of Carrie a few months ago, today we get a full trailer for the remake of the 1970s horror classic. Chloë Moretz stars as the shy high schooler with telekinetic powers, while Julianne Moore plays her mother, a strictly religious woman who deals with Carrie's powers by locking her in a closet, screaming. When Carrie's cruel classmates play a prank on her at the prom, Carrie uses her skills to get her revenge on everyone.

The new Carrie looks like it's going to be every bit as chilling as the original, but with modern touches (all the kids now have cell phones to document their bullying of Carrie) and updated special effects. I'm happy to see the inclusion of famous scenes (the tampon-throwing torture) and lines ("They're all gonna laugh at you"), but I'm most struck by how terrifying Moore is — and she doesn't even have any special powers. Carrie comes out Oct. 18, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.

The Red Band Trailer For Kick-Ass 2 Welcomes Jim Carrey to the Team

Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) may be down for the count, but Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloë Moretz) are not on their own in the red band trailer for Kick-Ass 2.

Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) may be down for the count, but Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloë Moretz) are not on their own in the red band trailer for Kick-Ass 2. The trailer for the sequel to 2010's Kick-Ass reveals the superhero duo is hitting the streets again to fight crime in New York City. This time, they have to fight the original movie's Chris D'Amico (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who's been reborn as baddie The Mother F%&*^r. Good thing they have fellow caped crusader Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey) and his loyal canine companion by their side.

I'm so excited for this movie — Hit-Girl is one of my favorite superhero characters of all time, and now that she's on her way into adolescence, I think her skills (and foul mouth) are only going to get more awesome. I also find that Carrey is at his best playing flamboyant characters like this, and I can't wait to see what he adds to the team. Kick-Ass 2 opens Aug. 16, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.

Freida Pinto and Chloë Moretz Face Off at the Latest Vanity Fair Party

The road to the Oscars is paved with many star-studded Vanity Fair parties, and while Monday night's event supplied the flirty cocktail dresses, yesterday's "Girl Rising" party delivered a cool contrast in light vs. dark styling.

The road to the Oscars is paved with many star-studded Vanity Fair parties, and while Monday night's event supplied the flirty cocktail dresses, yesterday's "Girl Rising" party delivered a cool contrast in light vs. dark styling. Freida Pinto stepped out in a blue, gray, and cream patchwork-infused, mesh-detailed Antonio Berardi dress from the designer's Spring '13 collection, and finished the look off with pewter Roger Vivier ankle-strap sandals. Meanwhile, Chloë Moretz chose a Christian Dior Pre-Fall '13 black fit-and-flare number that offered up a chic take on ladylike dressing — and played to a much darker kind of nighttime glamour. She kept her hair down, wore a smoky eye, and completed it all with nude pointy-toe pumps. Both ladies did right by their evening fare, so now it comes down to who you think did it best.
