Bravo's hair styling reality show Shear Genius is about to get a new host: Matthew McConaughey love, handbag designer, and model Camila Alves will be taking over from Jaclyn Smith when the third season premieres in February. (Also of note: hair reality show alum Jonathan Antin will be a new judge.)
I wish Alves luck, because it's a tough job — a host can make or break a show for its audience. There are the great emcees, like charming So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley, and then there are the unmemorable, such as season one Top Chef host Katie Lee, who was quickly replaced by Padma (let's not even get started on Top Chef Masters' Kelly Choi). And then there's those who can end things before they begin — I'm considering not watching Launch My Line because the voices of hosts Dean and Dan Caten from DSquared are so grating on my ears.
So, dish: which TV show hosts are your favorites — and least favorites?

I adore Cat Deeley! She is officially one of my girl crushes.
Personally, I cannot stand Ryan Seacrest. I appreciate the fact that he's hard working, or whatever, but he just annoys me!
1I hated Kelly (from Destiney's Child) hosting The Fashion Show on Bravo. I hope they replace her next season, preferably with Kimora Lee or with someone else who has a personality and spunk.
2Cat Deeley is my favorite for sure!
3Ryan Seacrest is most annoying but I can't say I hate one..... at least not now.
I always wondered what everyone saw in Cat Deeley. I find her annoying and stupid. Her presence actually made me stop watching the show. Heidi Klum, on the other hand, is my favorite. She's sweet, adorable and doesn't take herself too seriously.
4Does Tim Gunn count? He may not be the "host", but he certainly steals the show!!!
5Two words.... Cat Deeley. Enough said.
6I too love Cat, I was gushing over her recently and my mom said I know you love her but I don't know why. She said she likes her, but sometimes shes annoying!?!? What?!?! I think Cat truly cares about the contestants and always has genuine things to say after each dance--its very endearing and likable, not scripted like many shows. She seems like a friend to them. This season has been my least favorite of the show and even Cat though, she seems disinterested at times, but I still love her.
I love Heidi (and Tim!), Tyra is crazy, and I personally cannot stand Padma. Last season every contestant that did an interview on Yumsugar had bad things to say about her--and I see that on screen.
7I love Cat Deeley!
8How can you hate Kelly Choi?? Seacrest on the other hand, is down right annoying.
9Joel McHale from The Soup! He's pretty awesome. And, same network it seems, Chelsea Handler from her show Chelsea Lately.
10Not sure how I feel about this casting. I guess I will have to wait and see it, but does she have anything to do w/ hair? Seems a little random to me.
11Cat Deeley. Hands down best host EVER. I want to be her best friend.
12I think Alex Trebec is crappy host. He's so damn pretentious! But i guess some people must like him because he's been on TV for freakin' decades!
I liked Cat Deeley for a while... but lately (and I mean this season) she's been adding crappy and unnecessary commentary, and it seems as if she tries to steer the judges in a certain direction--maybe even trying to be a judge herself, with some of the comments. It's heartbreaking because she used to be on the top of my list... now though, Cat, STFU!!!
13I gree with Joel McHale, even if The Soup isn't a competition show. I'd also second Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum; I don't care what anyone says - I love Heidi...
14I so don't like anything about Ms. Alves. She sounds like she has marbles in her mouth and she has all the charisma of a mannequin.
15Camila Alves has the most annoying voice ever! Get her off Bravo!
