Why You Watch Bring It On Whenever It's on TV

Apr 30 2014 - 7:00am

It's been almost 14 years since Bring It On [1] first hit theaters, but for some reason, it never really gets old. There are, of course, all the really awesome and gravity-defying cheer routines, but it's more than that, isn't it? The movie taught you how to pick yourself back up, how to face adversity, and to always have spirit fingers. Keep scrolling as we remember all the reasons Bring It On is so great.

Bring It On made you feel sexy, cute, and popular to boot. Among other things.

Kirsten Dunst is basically perfect and inspired you to overcome your own adversity.

Same with Gabrielle Union. She taught you to look right into the eyes of the haters, and let them hate.

And how the world of competitive cheerleading works.

That sometimes, it's even a matter of life and death.

And that there's implicit value of spirit fingers.

Even though some people didn't get it, WE got it.

We also learned about other kinds of spirit fingers.

And how to deal with them when you encounter them.

Don't even talk about the spirit stick, though. Don't even look at it.

What we CAN talk about, though, is that epic toothbrushing scene.

Speaking of, can we talk about Jesse Bradford for a sec?

Like, look at that smirk.

In addition to dealing with haters, we figured out how to throw shade.

Lots of it.

And how to be real and call people out.

And how to rock out.

And drum up some serious moves.

And walk away when you know you're not getting anywhere.

In conclusion, the two biggest lessons were how to throw sass . . .

. . . And, most importantly, how to bring it.
