Breaking Dawn in 3-D — Awesome or Unncessary?

While you're still trying to figure out how Twilight's Breaking Dawn will work as two movies, here's a little more food for thought. Apparently Summit is toying with the idea of making the movies in 3-D. That means Edward's sparkly skin, Jacob's six pack, and all of the epic battle scenes could be even more in your face (literally) than ever before.

On the other hand, this also means (spoiler alert!) a potentially graphic birthing scene and a CGI half-vamp baby in more dimensions than we can stomach. 3-D tickets will certainly rake in even more money for the franchise, but will the extra effects really make it a better movie? What do you think of Breaking Dawn in 3-D — awesome or unnecessary?

i think 3D is kind of stupid! who wants to see a baby being born in a way that makes it look like its coming out to get u? besides bella & edward have sex in breaking dawn! o yea who wouldnt want to see naked people doing in 3D and have it be all up in your face?!?!

Totally Unnecessary... if you have to turn to 3D it is because you lack of creativity and good direction... the book is amazing as it is ... you got plenty work to do... please dont ruin it...

i think 3D will be cool... but my mom thinks other wise... she says that the book wasnt written in 3D so why make the movie into 3D... plus she thinks that there is going to be way to much going on... that your not going to be able to pay attention to the plot of the movie... you are going to busy looking at everything around instead of what is really going on in the movie... i some what agree... but hey EDWARD SPARKLING IN 3D OMG....

Ew....I so do not want to see that birthing scene in 3-D. I'm not into the 3-D trend at all, but that image makes me even less interested.

Fantastic, because that anticlimactic ending of everyone just standing around and scowling at each other will be so much more dramatic in 3-D.

No, there is no reason they need to make Breaking Dawn into 2 movies there just isn't enough material. They must be adding some things that was not in the book. I was a big fan now I'm just sick of it. Now! they freaking want to make the movies in 3D? Harry Potter, Avatar the Twilight series is not....ENOUGH ALREADY!!! I will wait until the movies come out on DVD.

I hope they don't make BD 3D, those glasses are annoying as hell! The 3D messes with my vision and I agree with Dani19 they give me headaches too. Ughhh, I hope they don't ruin this movie!

3D is so annoying; honestly when i sit in the movie theater i start getting a headache it from it. i really hope this fad goes away bc i like will stop seeing movies in theaters if i need to pay extra to watch a movie that is going to give me a headache for the rest of the day.

I DESPISE 3D! Weffie, I'm so glad I'm not the only person wondering why it's such a big friggin deal all of a sudden! I saw stuff in 3D when I was a kid, and imo it hasn't improved much. And it will most definitely NOT make for a better movie. Instead, they will waste screen time on long, unnecessary scenes that are supposed to look cool in 3D, but will be long and boring for people not watching in 3D or when people get the dvd (cuz r u really gonna sit around in 3D glasses at home?). Not only do I not wanna waste my money on some stupid glasses that they steal back from you, but I got lasik so I didn't have to wear glasses at the theater! I will not be a happy camper if they go 3D.

I'm the opposite, I find the 3D thing kind of pointless. I don't understand the sudden interest in a technology that's been around so long... why don't they give Smell-O-Vision another crack while they're at it? Although, Jacob's 3D abs just might change my mind :)

i'm totally buying into the 3D thing with movies and really don't mind paying extra for it. it enhances the movie and i think that it would be GREAT for breaking dawn, at least for PART 2 once bella is a vampire. think about it - she has heightened senses and 3D would really enhance that.
