Last year's news that Netflix is adapting A Series of Unfortunate Events [1] has us wanting to revisit the book series, and we learned that Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will be coming to the small screen [2] for a limited series based on a bestselling book. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
- What it's about: A reporter cones back to her hometown to investigate the murder of two young girls, which brings up her own demons.
- Who's starring: No one has been cast yet, but author Flynn is on board [6] to produce, and Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce creator Marti Noxon is in charge.

The Terror by Dan Simmons
- What it's about: A Royal Navy expedition in 1847 goes awry when a terrifying creature stalks them through the Arctic's Northwest Passage.
- Who's starring: No one has joined the cast yet, but Ridley Scott is producing the series [7].

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
- What it's about: This alternative-history novel explores the use of magic in England during the Napoleonic Wars and the relationship between two men: Gilbert Norrell and Jonathan Strange.
- Who's starring: Eddie Marsan is playing Gilbert Norrell, and Bertie Carvel is Jonathan Strange.

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
- What it's about: Tolstoy's epic follows five Russian families in the mire of the French invasion of Russia.
- Who's starring: Paul Dano, Lily James, Stephen Rea, and James Norton will star.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
- What it's about: In this heart-wrenching novel, a boy comes home to find a box of tapes recorded by his classmate and crush Hannah, who has recently killed herself. She lists 13 reasons why [8] she did it, which include his actions.
- Who's starring: Selena Gomez [9] has signed on to star as Hannah.
