The big movie news today is once again about a remake, and this time, it's the 1992 romance The Bodyguard that's being redone. Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner star in the original as a pop star and the man hired to protect her, who of course fall in love along the way. This new version will update the story by making the leading man a former Iraq war veteran whose first job back is this bodyguard gig, while producers are seeking a young female singer to play opposite him. Since no one has been cast as the leads yet, I thought I'd play casting agent matchmaker and tell you who I'd love to see together.

I think if they did do a remake it should be different in a sense that instead of a high profile singer being protected it could be a high profile actress. And definitely Matt Damon should be in the leading role because he has that presence like Kevin Costner did. As for the actress, I would go for Natalie Portman, she can act much better and the music should be 2nd priority.

I think Anne Hathaway has both the acting chops and the voice to carry this off, but I agree that there is no need for this remake... I think it is sad with all those remakes.

To no.2... Diana Ross was approached for the role back in the end of the 70's with Ryan O'Neal as the leading man.

I think your "5" couples are stupid and so predictable. You only chose them (besides Jake and Katy) because one was white and one was black like the first movie. In case you didn't know the script was NOT made for an African American singer.. they just wanted the BEST singer at the time and at the time they felt like it was Whitney Houston, that's why the "race" issue was never brought up in the movie or addressed. Also, playing that role put a HUGE dent in Kevin Costner's career. You can draw your own conclusions as to why, but I doubt any A star leading actor would be jumping to play a role that took Kevin from where he peaked to where he is now. Oh, and you gave NO thought to your 5 picks what so ever, you just labeled them female/black male/white and wrote them down. NO ThOUGHT WHAT SO EVER. You should be ashamed to have the job you have and turned in this piece of crap as an actual ARTICLE! Secondly...you only posted Rhianna and Ryan because of the drama that just recently went down with those two and it being the reason Amanda broke up with him. Tacky and thrown together article!

I love the idea of Jennifer Hudson in the starring role--but I imagine Katy Perry has some acting chops (or maybe I'm making that up in my head). For the Iraq war vet, I would definitely cast either Channing Tatum (so wonderful in "Dear John") or Jamie Foxx. He was amazing in "Jarhead," and I'm sure he could channel that inner soldier again.
