There's a good chance the trailer for The Big Wedding will feel very familiar to you, because it features a ton of stars in roles we've seen them play before. Amanda Seyfried as a bride-to-be? Check. Robin Williams as a wedding officiant? Check. Diane Keaton as the mother of the bride? Check. The list goes on, as the huge cast also includes the likes of Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, and Katherine Heigl, to name a few. The ensemble is drawn together in the name of Alejandro (Ben Barnes), who wants to invite his birth mother to his wedding to Missy (Seyfried). Ready for the wacky twist? He wants his adoptive parents (Keaton and De Niro) to act like they're still together because his birth mother doesn't believe in divorce.
Though the trailer is filled with clichés (think awkward sexual scenarios, uptempo classic songs, and kids who seem to be more mature than their parents), it's still kind of charming. Maybe it's because the preview reminds me of It's Complicated, which is a movie that I love despite its predictability, or that I just resist the cast. The film hits theaters on Oct. 26, but watch the trailer when you read more.
