Ruben & Clay was the all time best. Nothing has come close to that season. Maybe this year but I doubt it.

I went with Adam and Kris because I do genuinely like them both and I also think it's interesting to see two contestant who are so different from each other make it to the final.

However, I also liked both Carrie and Bo, so they were an extremely close second for me.

I wish Blake Lewis would have had a career.

I said Adam and Kris because I really adore both of them. And I love the unexpectedness of Kris being in the finale. Plus, they're both completely different, so I think it'll be interesting. I'd be happy with either outcome.

Also really liked Carrie and Bo and David squared. Kelly and Justin was good too.

Jordin and Blake was okay though I preferred Blake over Jordin.

I was never really a fan of Ruben or Clay. Katharine and Taylor should have been Chris and Elliott. And Fantasia is probably my least favorite Idol contestant of all time. So I didn't really care for any of those finales.

Its Carrie/Bo all the way for me. Two best singers and best season ever! Bo's da Bomb!!

I love Blake Lewis more than any other idol, but the most entertaining top two was clay and ruben. for sure.

Only because the final song of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Clay Aiken brought me to TEARS!!! And I never cry... but holy sh*t!!

Even though AI was in it's infancy, Season 2 had more more and brought more people into being Idol watchers. It's never been as exciting. We're now past those innocent times of amateurs competing and most people are jaded about the contest..There will never be another Clay and Ruben.

Bo and Carrie! I really wanted Bo to win. It's still my favorite season. I don't watch AI anymore though I'm bored with it

carrie underwood and bo bice. they were both really strong competitors. by far my favorite season. after that, it was all downhill. i'm glad they don't have that many years in their contract left.

Kelly and Justin. That was the only season where I thought both of them have an equal chance of winning...I always wanted Kelly to win, but I knew Justin had a lot of fans as well. I'm surprised Carrie & Bo are winning, I had no idea that Bo was so popular. I never cared for him, personally.

AI has changed in that it is no longer innocent & it has gotten very predcitable.
Earlier seasons has more pure, amateur talent. They were people who had not come from experienced music or entertainment or backgrounds. They didn't get live bands and intricate, technical lighting from the semi-finals and on. They didn't have itunes downloads available, nor did the contestants have Youtube to search for various versions of performances to look at that might help them with their "originality". They had so many more advantages that were not made available to previous seasons.

If Adam wins - good for him, but how exciting is it to have a seasoned, professional, entertainer win an amateur competition?

Definitely Clay and Ruben. I was devastated when Clay lost. Still believe he was the true winner.

Prob Clay and Ruben, but I voted for the David's b/c I liked both of them and didn't mind whoever won. I really wish Blake Lewis would have had a career after Idol, he was my all time favorite contestant, besides Danny Gokey (but I'm biased b/c I'm from Milwaukee, and that's a HUGE thing for us lol).

Sheesh, if you're gonna accuse anyone of spamming, try looking at the "Clay Mates" and D squared fans. This poll and it's results make perfect sense to me.

I chose Clay/Rueben too, most memorable season for me (still can't believe Rueben won over Clay!). After those 2, I would go with Carrie/Bo.

It would probably have to be Carrie and Bo, really didn't care to much for Bo though.

I think Kelly Clarkson has had the most success internationally. She's the only one I know and I haven't watched AI ever.

It was Season Two with Clay and Ruben all the way. Clay definitely should have won, but "phone glitches" blocked many thousands of his votes, especially from Raleigh. He won anyhow in the real world. Carrie was great, but Bo, not so much. I believe there is some software being used big time for her. Not worth it.

I never watch American Idol, but I'm actually one of the few people that end up buying the music of the winners and various finalists.
I bought both Jordin and Blake's first albums and just loved them. Other than Kelly, I haven't purchased anyone else's full albums.

The first season was a toss up and pretty close as was Ruben and Clay but I voted for Carrie and Bo. The first 2 non pop artists in the finale.
Fantasia and Diana was the worst match up that poor Diana didn't stand a chance. I thought that this match up was going to be similar but Kris did hold his own last night and could cause an upset.
These days with Idol it doesn't really matter if you win or come in second you still get singed by the AI record label. It's just having that title. Similar to a boxing match- you still make a lot of money for getting out there and fighting but you don't win the belt for bragging rights.

Carrie and Bo was my favorite finale...and the Ruben/Clay showdown was pretty exciting too.

I have watched all the seasons, and loved them all, however never since season two have I (personally) been so enthralled. I have never re played any of the others songs they sang except for Clay. He really blew me personally away. I have also enjoyed season 8, and Kris, for different reasons to Clay, so My choice will possibly always be season 2, but this season is a close second. I loved Kris and Adam.

I really feel Season 2 was the best. Clay and Ruben all the way. I couldn't watch Carrie. She seriously had and still has the personality of a box of hair and I can't stand watching her. I actually thought Bo had a pretty good shot at beating her and wished he would have.
