The CW has pulled the plug on The Beautiful Life after airing only two episodes. The ratings were dismal for the premiere and apparently things weren't looking up after the second week on the air. This makes TBL the first of the new Fall shows to be canceled after two other new CW shows — Melrose Place and The Vampire Diaries — were both picked up for more episodes. Sad news for Mischa Barton, the rest of the cast, and producer Ashton Kutcher. So, are you disappointed to see The Beautiful Life go so soon?

If there was an "I don't like this" button I'd click it, I can't believe this, after only 2 episodes and honestly they've not done their best to promote it either so CW is kind of responsible for the low ratings I reckon.
1I was so looking forward to seeing how things would turn out for the characters, I can't say I was addicted to the show as it's only been 2 episodes but I'm really disapointed, even if there might not be many people who feel the same way about this news.
Yikes. I didnt watch it..but I like Sara Paxton.
2What a bummer! I liked this show. Brought me back to the good ol' days of The OC w/ Mischa Barton. They should have given it a bit more of a chance...it was definitely better than Melrose Place!
3I'm sad about this, it really doesn't seem to have been given a chance. I was hoping to see it come over to the UK!
4I thought this was a great show, the actors were pretty good and the story line was pretty interesting. Unfortunately, it was not properly promoted as say, Melrose Place. I think this show has a lot of potential and plotwise, surpasses Melrose and even this season of Gossip Girl so far.
5Jeeze that was fast. I thought it would be a few more weeks until the show got canceled. I hope this doesn't send Mischa Barton off the deep end.
6How can I be sorry to see it go when I didn't even see it. Quite a few time a number of intelligent shows with promising storylines that I was watching were cancelled without good reason, so it's nice to see something that isn't worthwhile get cut too.
7They didn't promote it at all (typical CW fashion) and, when they did, it wasn't done right. The story was Sara Paxton and that guy - not really the modeling. They had some serious chemistry. They shot 7 episodes, or were shooting the 7th now, and they aren't even airing them all. Such a shame.
8I'm sad to see they didn't give it a chance, but I'm not really surprised. Mischa Barton looks like a hot mess, the ratings are bad and honestly I was watching and didn't even know why. The show is not good, there was something wrong about it, but I really don't know why. The girl and the boy were cute, but the rest was just wrong...
Really hope they give Body Politic a chance. And I really hope they let the Lilly 80's show die hahaha
9I tried to watch this, but honestly it was awful. Both Mischa and Paxton were terribly wooden in it, and so was the guy. Ugh.
10Bummer! I thought it was a fun show!
11NO. I liked this show.
12This sucks, I really like this show. I hope they at least show the episodes they already have done.
13I feel bad for Mischa and Ashton, but I really didn't like the first episode. Never cool when shows get canceled so early though. Who knows what it would have been in a few episodes.
14i want this show... only two episode??? CW bad idea
15i don't interesting in vampire diary or melrose place.... too bad... i watch TBL online and really like it
bad luck for Sara and mischa
ha...i haven't even watched these yet, they were still on my dvr! i guess i can delete them!
16I watched the first episode and it was painful. The story lines were not creative. All of the actors would overact or underact. It was a very awkward show to watch.
17This show didn't intrigue me at all, so I'm kinda glad it was canceled. I hope they bring the Lily spinoff in for a midseason replacement.
18: (
19sidra5397- you said 'it's nice to see something that isn't worthwhile get cut too', but at the beginning of your comment you said 'how can I be sorry to see it go when I didn't even see it?'.. so how do you know it;s not worthwhile if you didn't even watch it?
20^ Yeah, you're right about that. I'm just bitter about my cancelled shows. Don't mind me.
21The most publicity this show ever had was from gossip sites tracking down Mischa and waiting for her to fall apart, the CW didn't to much for it, unlike crappy Melrose Place, I was really looking forward to watching the plot develop, and people complaining about the acting, I want you to name more that 2 or 3 actors on the CW than can actually act!
22That was fast indeed. I was actually interested ub watching it, it can't be worse than Vampire Diaries or Melrose Place.
I feel bad for Mischa, too, she deserves a "comeback", if you wull.
23^ Wow it's still too early for me to work a keyboard properly.
24wow so upset about this....think the show had a lot of potential and was soooo much better than the CW babies 90210 and melrose....how bout trying something original and sticking with it!
25I thought it had potential. The first episode seemed disjointed and the acting was abysmal, but I think it could have gotten better, given the chance.
26Plus, it was kind of delicious watching that guy from High School Music wh*re himself out.
27Nooooo Noooo Nooooo I loved to watch Mischa Barton again
28I didn't think it had that much of a chance from the beginning :/
29its curesed like bandslma with vanessa no one will promote this
30there wasnt even a themem song music video thing to call to us nothing no those peple are so fire
Oh no! I'm sad for Ashton and the cast. It was a great cast! I really like that kid from High School Musical... I hope he finds some other work.
31That all being said, the show WAS pretty lame, and I'm not totally surprised...
32Oh c'mon. I haven't seen it, but cancelling a show after only two episodes is pretty stupid, imo. It just shows incompetence and poor management on the network part.
33Also, I feel bad for Mischa, she hasn't had any luck, and there's a lot of worse actresses out there...
I guess beautiful people's problems are not that interesting. And teenagers can't relate to them. Hence the poor ratings.
34I personally would love a show about models, if - unlike TBL - it were smart, funny, honest, uncensored and didn't star Mischa Barton, whose acting is beyond annoying.
This is why i hate watching a new show, i really dont think they gave it enough of a chance. i definitely loved seeing Mischa Barton back on the small screen, made me miss The O.C. all over again. Really would have at least liked to see what happened for all the characters.
35oh no! I actually liked the show - ridiculous drama and all those secrets i've been itching to find out! that's kind of sad. Two episodes aren't enough to determine how well a show will eventually do for a season imo!
36I never watched the show, and probably never would, but I think it is crazy to cancel ANY show after 2 episodes. It takes time to build a fan base and stories that are interesting.
37that sucks. i thought the farmer boy was really hot
38i miss pushing daisies
39They need to cancel Melrose Place next.
40sidra5397 lol yeah it can be really annoying when you're totally into a show and then they cancel it. It happens all the time here in Australia. I'm so excited because this TV show from the US that I've been looking forward to watching finally airs here and then apparently not enough people watch it so it suddenly disappears! We only have like 5 channels on free to air TV so there is not much room.
41yes I really was enjoying the program, actually thought it would've lasted way longer then this, sad to see it go
42I thought it was ok. Better then that horrid Melrose Place.
43I didn't think it was that bad after all. I was kinda waiting for the next ep! To bad there won't be any
44I didn't love it..but i was giving it a chance. Mischa just seemed like she was reading lines. I liked the guy from HSM and the Midwest model guy. Too bad...it could have been interesting....but the writing just was not interesting.
45I think they should have tried it in a different time slot or a different night before pulling the plug.
46Maybe another network will pick it up.
Only after hearing about the cancellation did I actually check out the first 2 episodes. I have to admit that while the show wasn't EPIC, it had a pretty decent storyline that would have been hilarious to watch. I'm pretty sad to see it go. We need more fluffy, soapy trash on tv, and this was the perfect fit!
Now CW should bring back Reaper!
47WASNT PROMOTED ENOUGH!
48This makes me so mad,
i miss mischa barton and the oc days.
i was so excited to see her back,
but then they had to cancel it?
WAS WAY BETTER TAHN MELROSE PLACE!
Melrose places's story plot is boring, i find myself turning the tv off halfway through an episode.
The show had some promise, but it's true most of the acting was wooden. Shows about models have a dismal track record dating back to Paper Dolls in the 1980s and Models Inc. in the '90s. It seems people are more interested in the lives of real-life models than fictionalized stories about them.
49I feel like this is a little premature. It's barely had a chance to start airing. I thought it just needed to gain steam.
