Over a year ago, I got a little upset over the idea of Richard Yates's phenomenal novel about suburban dystopia in 1960, Revolutionary Road, being turned into a movie. It's one of the most powerful works I've ever read (I even encouraged many of you to read it as one of my book club selections), and I feared that a film might dilute that somehow.
I've been coming around on this, however, and I'm more OK with the idea (though Leonardo DiCaprio is so not how I imagined Frank, but that's fine). I also think that now that Mad Men is becoming more and more popular, audiences may be more intrigued than ever by a film about the same era.
I'd love to see a trailer one of these days! I guess we have some time, though, since the film doesn't open until Dec. 26.
