Gravity Takes the 2014 BAFTA Nominations by Storm

Jan 8 2014 - 8:37am

Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity [1] has already been a steady presence on ballots as award season nominations have rolled out, and the film is all over the 2014 BAFTA nominations. With 11 nominations including best picture, best director, and leading actress (Sandra Bullock [2]), Gravity has bested runners-up American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave, which each earned nine nominations. Meanwhile, Spike Jonze's Her was snubbed entirely, and both Matthew McConaughey [3] and Jared Leto [4] — already favorites for the American award shows — failed to receive nods. Take a look at the full list of nominees before the BAFTAs take place on Feb. 16.
