"You're the chosen one, Harry."
This new international teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince makes it even more of a bummer that the release date got bumped from November to July '09. The trailer makes the movie look exciting and dramatic and funny and darkly beautiful.
It's obviously a must-watch for any Potter fan, so read more.

I really hope this is good. These movies are always a pretty big let down.
1I think that they are only "let downs" when closely compared to the books...but as stand alone movies, they are fabulous.
2I agree Berlin, as stand-alone films they are brilliant, but in comparison to the books they are a let down. Isn't nearly every film adaptation of a book a let down? You can't possibly include everything from a book in a film -- you'd wind up with 8 hour epics! Regardless I look forward to The Half-Blood Prince as much as I did with the previous films!
3I agree with Berlin. I like all of the movies a lot, but of course they are not as good as the books. Can't wait for this movie!
4Okay, that was awesome. Can't wait!
5I would love 8 hour epic Harry Potter movies! Sigh...
This looks awesome! I'm still not over the fact that we have to wait until next year...we could have seen this movie next month! Ugh!
6OMG I have to see this now!!! Half-Blood Prince was my favorite of the HP books. It looks amazing!
7I got goosebumps! I am still annoyed they moved it to July though. As much as I want to see it, I'm going to make myelf wait until the 2nd week it's open to go see it on principle alone. I know...won't make a difference, but still!
8Stop tormenting us with great trailers, you evil Warner Brothers..I still can´t believe that we´ll have to wait til effing July to see The Half Blood Prince.Sigh...
9What the pf*ck!!! Why did they move it 8 months out. Thats not a small move either. I was thinking last Christmas how long of a wait it would be, but I forgot and time happened and now they're going to push it back. I love Harry Potter, but I just might lose interest in the movies at this rate.
I think they're forgetting we read the book and these movies are just icing on the cake. Also, as a 20 year old HP fan who was in middle school (the same as Harry when the books started)...I'm not getting any younger. IMO they're hedging their bets on time and life taking precedence over youthful love of the story. I already see drastically less movies (in the theatre) than I did when I was in highschool...
10This makes me want to reread all the books and rewatch all the movies. I cna't believe we have to wait nine more months
11i CANT NOT WAIT FOR THIS!
it makes me mad that it is coming out in july.
12That was very good
and lol at the last part, hahaha. Harry's getting cheeky.
13ahh! this trailer is better than the last one i think. so good, i am so excited for this but im really disappointed its not coming out until next summer : (
14That was beyond AMAZING!!!!! I am still pissed they pushed it back until July.
15Aaaaarhhh OMG!!!!
16that was so good! cant wait for the movie!
17O_O
is all i can say.
18AHHH!!! It definitely looks like the best yet, I'm so bummed that they moved the date back...
19I'm so freakin' excited I can hardly stand it!
20can't wait!!
21looks soo good. I really can't wait
22SO ticked that they moved it a *short* 8 months...WTF were they thinking?? Gah!
23I love these movies. They are fantastic. I can't wait.
24I am bitter that they pushed back the date as well.. Compared to the books of course, they do leave out a lot because of time constraints.. I would sit through a 3 hour HP movie.. hehe... but the movies alone are wonderful... I really like the 3 and up better than the first two.. 3 and up are more dark... which to me really goes along with the books. I love the cast & can't wait till 09!! ahhh!! anyone in Atlanta wanna go with me...? =]
25Oh my god. This looks amazing. I thought it was Hermione but it was actually Lavendar.
26Gave me chills! I so wish this was coming out in November!
27I can't wait for this movie!!!!!!! I'm re-reading the entire series for about the 10th time. I don't know that they will ever get old.
I agree too that if you compare the movies too much to the books, you will be sorely let down. However, I'm hoping that the final movie, which will actually be TWO movies, is going to stick a bit closer to the book, and that's why they're making it into two.
28It's nice to see that Billy Corgan got a cameo as Voldemort.
29omg. i can't believe i have to wait until next summer!
30Warner Brothers is just being selfish by pushing the date back to July, so they can have their "summer blockbuster." (They probably don't have anything else good on offer during the summer, and they know HP will be an easy winner in the profits stakes. I'm on to you, Warner Bros.!) HP should always come out in the fall...the movies just have that sort-of autumnal and magical feel to them - more conducive to being shown around the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays.
31I agree with Berlin!!! Compare the films with the movies it's not fair...the movies by themselves make a great plot and a delight for our eyes! and I'm craving so much for this one!!!
32I can't wait!!!!
33Is it July yet?
34Very exciting!! But is anyone else really annoyed by Dan's hair in this and the fifth movie?? It's so ugly and distracting! I think his hair was best in the third and fourth films and yes, I care this much about hair.
35I don't mind the longer wait...I'll miss the day when I no longer have anything Harry Potter-related to look forward to! This preview looks amazing!
36I can't wait!! I think I'll reread them and rewatch all the movies leading up to this!
37and I totally agree with gatsby-esque! These movies do have a fall magical feeling to them. Not summer to me at all! So sad it's not going to be here next month!
38OOOMMMGG!
cant wait!
39Yay! I can't wait!
I'm a big dork & always read the book before going to see the
movie, hehe.
40it's funny - i've NEVER read any of the books and the first anything harry potter that i've seen was the latest movie that was out so this kind of looks cool but i'm sad that i have to wait almost a year to see it! this looks GREAT
41I would sit through six hours of a Harry Potter movie if they would include all of the detail of the books. In the Order of the Phoenix they left out a lot of important stuff. I do agree that if you aren't a fan of the book series, you won't even know what you are missing and you will thoroughly enjoy the movies.
42I started reading the books when they first came out, but then when the 3rd one hit.. I couldn't get through it fast enough and the movie came out too. I've seen some movies read some books, I think I'm on the fourth year of the book.. Preferably, I would like to read the book first then watch the movie, but with so little time, there's no telling what will happen.
43TEAM HARRY! THIS HAS TO BEAT TWILIGHT'S OPENING
44Wow, wow, wow. Can't wait for the return of Harry Potter!
I really miss him...
45I loved the trailer! I think the movies are good, but you can't compare them to the books of course
46Ohhhh, I want to watch it SO badly! Now I've got goosebumps all over, it's been almost a year since I touched the HP merchandise, but this teaser makes me want to reread all the books once again, LOL
47'arry pothead???
lol
I love harry! I enjoy the movies. Even if they do stink like crap. but i was impressed by the 5th movie, and now that the same director is back, i can tell this one is going to impress me greatly as well.
48I'm soooo excited!!!
49wow, this movie is gonna be great!! i love how the movies became so dark!! :]
