Iron Man

Movies he's appeared in: We've seen Tony Stark / Iron Man in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk.
What you need to know about him: Since he's already had two of his own movies, Iron Man has the most onscreen history of all the Avengers. Tony Stark was just your average arrogant billionaire engineer, until he got some shrapnel lodged in his chest. To keep the obtrusion from killing him, he created an Iron Man suit, which flies and does other cool stuff. Oh, and he's also romantically involved with his assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).

First, I just want to express my complete Joy, Satisfaction and Love for the record-breaking success of MARVEL'S The AVENGERS! What an awesome movie! Secondly, in total support of my all-time favorite comic book character (THOR), I also want to say that I feel that Chris Hemsworth is the PERFECT THOR; he has FAR exceeded my expectations for an actor to portray the Thunder God and I commend MARVEL'S, Kenneth Branagh's decision (or whomever's it was) to depict THOR with his signature RED cape. It is my belief that the simple addition of THOR's cape made his presence onscreen that much more regal, powerful and most importantly...accurate (according to his comic book appearance). I am patiently awaiting THOR 2, AVENGERS 2 and the DVD of The AVENGERS. Make Mine Marvel

Um...i think that in Marvel Universe , Asgard is just a different realm whit highly advanced "science" and beings - but not an actual gods - just our ancestors saw them like ones .

Thor isn't a demigod, he's a full God. A demigod has to have one mortal parent. He is The God Of Thunder. I don't why Tony Stark called Thor a demigod in the film either. Were they just playing safe, because as Captain America put it to Black Widow - "There's only one God, Ma'am"...?
