I have mostly described season five of True Blood as bonkers, bananas, and out of control, and the finale kept up the season's tradition. Though most plot lines were just silly (like Morella giving birth to four fairy babies), the very end of the show nearly took a turn for the tragic. Bill drinks Lilith's blood and it appears to kill him, but just as I was about to start mourning the loss of a principal character, he's "reborn" — and into Lilith's gross, bloody image. It's stomach-turning, unnecessary, and not a good sign for season six.
