Remember Angelina Jolie's Bosnian war romance from earlier this week? As it turns out, the actress is more involved than she initially let on: Jolie wrote the film's screenplay herself, and it will also mark her directorial debut.

Many actors have made the jump from in front of the camera to behind (Ben Affleck's Gone Baby Gone comes to mind), and Jolie seems to have the experience and determination to helm a film on her own. Even so, you know everyone's going to be watching to see if she can pull it off. Do you think her new venture will be a success?

She did well directed A Place in Time.. so a small independent film starring people from the area and tackling subject matters like war and rape and genocide will be something she has definitely heard many many first hand accounts from refugees. It will be interesting.

personally i don't think that she's necessarily slated to be the next great director but i guess she needs something new to do. right? i feel like her 'best' work (if you can call it that) - it's always been in the action genre so this just doesn't seem like it would fit. that's just my opinion though and well - we all know that she's not my favorite.

I have more trouble believing she could write a decent screenplay - for the mother of six (?) kids, girlfriend to Brad Pitt, working actress, model and humanitarian, she's got a surprising lot of time on her hands.
