How Amy Adams Will Keep It Real on the Oscars Red Carpet

Amy Adams has been killing it on the red carpet this award season, but when the best actress nominee came to the interview room at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon, she admitted that she doesn't always feel like herself when she dresses for award shows. The American Hustle star said, "Sometimes I feel like I'm dressing in costume on the red carpet, and this year I want to feel like myself, so when I'm on the red carpet this year, you can guarantee that that's the dress I would wear. It's not a character's dress." Not that she doesn't love her characters — she had kind, complimentary words about director David O. Russell and the parts he created for her in American Hustle and The Fighter. "David has created two really diverse, wonderful, different roles for me. I'm very grateful for that, and David has a way of challenging an actor past what they think they're capable of. It's almost in a way that he sort of keeps on you until you give him what he saw in you, and it's a wonderful, wonderful thing."
