Spoiler Alert!: Don't read beyond this point if you haven't seen the finale of ANTM because I'm going to tell you the result of the show.

And the winner is ...

Whitney!

I had thoight Anna was going to win. Although I am happy for Whitney because throughout the competition she did try very hard. I am also happy about Whitney winning because it might break the ranks of the different types of models that do model.

I would have been happy too if it had been Anya as she has a really one of kind look and is quite likeable but I am very happy Whitney won, from the beginning of this cycle, she was the one I could relate the best to personality wise as well as shape wise, and I think it is a good thing to show women that being curvy (or as i call it, "normal") not only can be, but IS beautiful, I was looking for clothes a few days ago and I realised that each time I go shopping I struggle to find clothes in my size, but not because it's not made available to us, but because they've already all been bought whereas all the skinny sizes are still on the hangers in the shops, and that made me stop and think "wait, if all the medium sizes have gone, that's because most women are these sizes, and that's because women always were curvy, and probably always will be even though some are more or less naturally thin or big boned" the more days go by, the more I learn to like myself the way I am, and if Whitney being America's top model can help others do that, then that's great! Thumbs up to her!

i feel like the show is always edited to make certain girls look more or less likeable, so I'm a cynic about how "nice" anja seemed. Bute damn! Whitney was smart and articulate on top of being a healthy weight. I think if nothing else, I would want my daughter see her get praise from the media over a dumb skinny girl.

OK, lets face it, a plus size model will never become a "top" model. Its just against the rules of the fashion world. Plus size models will never be able to go beyond catologue.

I'm actually pretty disappointed that Anya didn't win. She was so much more high fashion, and all of her pictures were gorgeous. Whitney, on the other hand, was in the bottom two numerous times for her lackluster photos and bitchy personality. I mean yeah, it's cool a full-figured person won the competition, but Whitney herself doesn't deserve it in my opinion. Also, I highly doubt anyone will be seeing her on major runways anytime soon.

The "best" girl will never win ANTM because, although the shoots are set up for the "best" to be a high fashion model, they need a Cover Girl in the end -- and Cover Girl doesn't use high fashion people these days (think about the recent CGs: Drew Barrymore, QL, etc). The high fashion stuff is just there to entertain the masses. That being said, I think it's fine that Whitney won. I'm tired of looking at tiny women... she had just do a decent commercial for once -- Dani, and Saleisha's CG campaigns were sickening!

I wasnt unhappy that Whit won, I would have been okay with either. Anya is beautiful untill she opens her mouth, she will get modeling work regardless. My hubby called it in the beginning because ANTM has NEVER had a full figured girl go all the way, and they needed to fill that quota and Whitney is the best one they have ever had, whether or not that was planned. I believe that ANTM sets things up for certain models to win, I mean watching saleishas commercials and her runway makes me vomit she is so not a model or a spokesperson. I am glad that fatima or "teeth" didnt make it till the end or Dominique/Tranny.

In my opinion, Anya was clearly the winner. In most shoots, Anya was the one with the best pictures. It seems like a set up if you ask me... Whitney is NOT cute with blonde hair and that weave..YUCK

The winner..is..a plus size model? Which one? Both of them are thin... I always figure that ANTM is fixed year after year, but hey, it made for good entertainment. I just stopped watching since...the Nicole-Bree one...the one who went to London.

I stoped watching ANTM this season; I just lost complete interest in the show (and Tyra's antics got on my nerves. Plus all the news on how the girls destroyed the loft bugged me.)

I LOVE whitney!!!!! and, for those bummed about the "spoiler".. why come on these sites? i didn't watch it until tonight and didn't want to know, so i just avoided internet sites like these today.. not that hard? anyway, love whitney! she's gorgeous, relatable and i really hope she does well! i think anya or her were both great, but because of her "plus size" image, i wonder if it would have been harder for her to be signed if she didn't win, as opposed to anya and fatima who probably had people beating down their door.

Katarzyna or Anya... And Fatima looks like a model, but her attitude is just AWEFUL. She's too full of herself. Maybe it will be better for their (Anya & Kat) careers to NOT win anyway.

that runner up was strange looking. i only saw the decision on yahoo, not the whole season but finally a normal size person won. now lets see if she gets any work in the real world :)

I cannot believe Anya didn't win. She was so humble, modest, and beautiful inside and out. Her personality was super cute too. I'm assuming a significant factor of why she didn't win was b/c of her accent. Whitney was rude, a gossiper, and always rolled her eyes. If Whitney had been nicer and less "fake", then I would have liked her more. Plus, she was in the bottom like 3 times and each time Tyra thought she was a fake. Why would you make a fake person "America's Next Top Model"? *Sigh* so disappointed.

I can't stand the show, but are they really trying to start a "revolution?" Skinny is dominant right now; talk about a lousy excuse to get some press!

Almost every other season has had more deserving plus sized models. I mean even look at Tocarra, I remember when they had a swimsuit shoot and Tocarra looked better in her bathing suit than the thin girls! I couldn't believe it. Plus Tocarra has probably had the most success she's had several magazine covers, her own tv shows, and modeled. If any "big girl" was gonna win it should have been her or even a couple of the other ones. Truthfully I don't imagine seeing Anya or Whitney much at fashion shows but I'm sure Fatima the Iman look a like is going to be snapped up quick!

angeline - yeah, because size 8/10 is SOOO fat... I'm happy with the results of the show. I've liked Whitney since the beginning. She's great for commercial modeling, which is good, because the ANTM gig isn't really about high fashion (even though the show pretends to be all about it).

I don't want to be a hater, but hell no! When she made it into the top 3 I thought there was NO way she'd make it to the top 2 atleast, but then... she did. And then... she won. Oy. I feel like she only won because Tyra was getting crap about the plus-size girls always being voted out, and she had a point to prove. Call me cray, but I just don't believe that Tyra has a genuine bone in her body :/

NO! she was not the best choice. she was a terrible model. anya was clearly the best thing. she was never in the bottom two, whitney was like 4 times. anya takes the best pictures, whitney poses like a pageant queen. anya actually looked like a model, whitney looks like any other random girl. they only picked her because they wanted to show that they don't discriminate against fat girls, so they picked a fat girl. and personally i think that it was all planed out from the beginning!

Lizzard, pargie, I'm sorry if the results were spoiled for you, but I've seen plenty of sites that have the info right out there, front and center today. I think people are just going to be talking about the winner today no matter what. If you really want to ensure not having it spoiled, maybe avoid entertainment sites until you see the finale? Or, there's a spoiler alert at the top of this one so you could have scrolled right past the whole post. And from a technological standpoint, just the way the site is set up with polls I can't put anything after the jump. All the text has to go above the poll options so my hands are kinda tied in that regard.
