Rejoice, Ally McBeal fans! The series is finally coming to DVD (Region 1 DVD, at long last). It was a rumor a couple weeks ago, and now Popwatch alerted me to the fact that Amazon has listed both the first season's DVD set as well as the complete series DVD set. Though Fox hasn't yet issued a release date for these goodies, they are both available for pre-order right now.
This absolutely makes my day. I don't even care that there's no release date yet, just the fact that this is really happening is enough for me. I already own one of the soundtracks (go Vonda!) and The Official Guide (yup, this was one of my coffee table books for a long time, because I am that cool) and I cannot wait to be able to watch Ally any day, anytime on my TV.
What do you think, Ally fans? Which episodes are you most looking forward to seeing again? One of my very favorites is when Barry White guest stars and sings "My First, My Last, My Everything" while the whole gang does John Cage's dance together. Brings a tear to my eye! OMG! I can't wait! I loved this show. Up until the final season.. the old drag queen was weird to me.
But up until Billy died, that was an awesome show!

3Really? You've never had A McB on DVD before in the US? In the UK every single obscure programme has been released on DVD. Wish US was more like that, and I might finally be able to see the 3 series of Chicago Hope that never got aired here!

5OMG! I'm so happy! I've been waiting so long for this - Woo Hoo!!! Yes - I love the clip w/Barry White too, and all the dancing in the bathroom, as well. Please tell me that they're not changing one bit of the music from this series. It's so much a part of the stories, it has to remain intact!

10Finally! I grew up with this show. Everyone talks about SATC but AB was its equivalent years before SATC came to HBO. I hope the DVD is going to be good and not someone that's just slapped together. I hope there are tons of features! =)
