Personally, I had a good time watching Cloverfield, and while the camera work is a bit nauseating at first, I didn't really have any urge to, well, barf. That doesn't appear to be the case for everyone though, and since its huge opening last weekend the movie has been plagued by some bad word of mouth. Zap2it reports one woman's rough experience immediately after watching the movie:
"I'm really nauseous right now — just hold on for a second," she said, before walking down the hall and retching into a trash can.
Wow. Some are actually predicting these reports might seriously affect ticket sales. So what about you: Did watching Cloverfield make you want to hurl?

i haven't seen it yet but based on the promos for it - i know that i'm going to get nauseas watching. it's the camera shaking around that's too much for me!
1i haven't seen it yet but i'm not worried about the way it's filmed, i didn't have a problem with the bourne ultimatum or anything. i decided that i didn't want to see it when i found out what it was about!!!!!
2I want to see it but wasn't aware of the shaky camerawork! In that case, I'm going to make sure to I sit at the back.
3I haven't seen it and probably won't either. I'm not really into horror movies. Also when I watched 'Blair Witch Trial' I felt nauseous too. It's not worth it to me.
4I think the camera was awesome. I made the movie feel more real. It was supposed to be shaky! Perhaps watching it on a huge screen is rough, but I bet watching it at home on DVD on a normal sized TV won't be as bad.
I have more issues with how this giant monster just suddenly appears in NY. How does nobody see it coming?!
5I saw it the other day and yes, it did indeed make me hurl! The shaky camera work for me was sickening, and after I left the cinema I headed into the toilets feeling quite seedy and barfed my guts up. I have a history of motionsickness though so I don't think this will happen for everyone. I've yet to fly without feeling sick and/or chucking up and The Bourne Ultimatum also made me feel sick so I guess I'm just sensitive! My advice to anyone who hasn't seen it yet; don't take any food in with you. The combination of a full stomach and the crazy camera is not good. The movie is shot like someone was literally running around with a camera on their shoulder and while it's kind of cool at first, it ended up giving me a headache and a sore tummy for the night.
6Lots of movies have weird and awkward camera angles. The mind ignores this, usually, because it is distracted by the action and the soundtrack. It's sort of a trio.
Cloverfield didn't have any soundtrack to distract you.
7The camera work made it seem so real. It was a great movie you should really watch it.
8No but I still thought the movie was terrible.
9I'm not so sure they could have filmed it any other way considering that it was supposed to be from the New York City residents' point of view. I liked the movie - the most annoying part in regards to the filming is when they are at the going away party at the beginning (before the monster action begins). I say, if shaky camera work makes you sick - take some dramamine and then go enjoy the movie - the monster itself is worth seeing
10I get motion sickness really easily and I had no trouble watching Cloverfield.
11Oops, I meant to click on I haven't seen it...
I definitely will not be going to this one.
I got nauseous when I went to the Blair Witch movie, years ago. I'll never put myself through that again. I spent the majority of that movie with my head tilted down, eyes covered. I was able to keep myself from actually hurling, though. Thank goodness.
12No, but it sucked and was really stupid. What made me want to puke was the fact that I spent a good hour and a half of my life watching that "movie".
13I thought the movie was awesome. Totally amazing. But it did make me sick. I had to look away half the time-- and I still loved it! It seemed so very real and it was SO scary!
14It didn't make me barf, but on the drive home I felt like I was still looking at life through a video camera.
15I thought the camera work was actually pretty cool... but I hated the movie. Such a disappointment
16I saw it twice and didnt feel sick...and for those who haven't seen it yet..you must!
17i haven't seen it yet but
18ill probs just get really
annoyed with the camera work.
i enjoyed the movie, but the camera work did make me nauceous a few times...
19No problem the camera work at all.
20Haven't seen it - Don't want to see it.
21I didn't get sick, but I sat kinda close and got a headache from it. I think I would have enjoyed the movie more if I had sat back further. So my advice is... sit back further in the theater than you normally do!
22I loved Cloverfield! It didn't even occur to me that people would need/want to puke from the camera -- until I was walking out and someone had done just that in the hallway out of the theater! Then I remembered the same thing happened with Blair Witch, and it sort of made sense.
23Great movie.
24is everyone over 80? seriously? the camera-work was not bad at all and the movie was excellent. a must see.
25Hey Cubcakes, go easy on some us! Not all of us have your stamina- I'm at the healthy age of 23 and I was nauseous for 3 days after seeing it.
26As soon as the movie started I had to close my eyes....I looked up maybe 5 or 6 times and still felt extremely extremely sick. I couldn't even watch the car chase scene in bourne ultimatum. I thought there was nothing great about the movie through the dialogue atleast. The characters weren't very
27likable and the entire movie is just "so different" because its filmed that way. Ya so the monster was scary and maybe the special effects were good, but since when do you judge a movie by how good the special effects were. The storyline was very basic once again pointing to the fact how the movie is just like hey look at my special way of filming and my CGI, so you overlook the lame story.
Overall I think it was a waste of $10 and a movie that not only was bad, but literally made you sick.
the movie was pure fun entertainment! trying a little too hard to be youtube gen friendly, but man, all the elements of a fun movie. my bf and i couldn't stop talking about how fun it was and then rented 28 weeks later after! it was nonstop movie monsters for us. and what was that thing? that's the best part.
28My best friend got sick.
29lol @ your title Buzz.
30I'll be watching it eventually. I wonder if the small screen is easier to handle that style of camera work. Blair Witch didn't bother me, but I didn't see it on the big screen.
The last two Bourne movies made me motion sick, so I think I'll be sitting this one out. Fool me twice, shame on me. I won't fall for this again when I know how I'll react to it.
31the jittery videotaping was the fun of the movie. that's what made it so thrilling. it wasn't the monster or the mini-monsters. it was the fact that you were only seeing the story through one victim's eyes. what he saw is what you saw. incredible.
32I was alright with it but at more than one point i had to close my eyes because i was getting so dizzy
33Just got back from seeing this and it was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! It was off the hook! LOVED IT!!! I can't believe people have such sensitive stomachs. I didn't feel sick at all and I didn't see anyone get sick. I guess if you have motion sickness or prone to seizures then you shouldn't see it but it was really an awesome movie. They took the monster genre to a whole other lever. It felt so REAL!
34I felt nauseous hours later.
35OK, so what makes this movie so much more interesting is the viral videos and clues outside of the movie that helps you to figure out what happened and where the monster came from. I think this campaign was brilliant making the movie goer get more involved and search for answers on their own.
This kid did a pretty good summary of hidden clues and spoilers that you may have missed watching the film!

36I was on the fence about seeing Cloverfield, but now I know that I will avoid avoid avoid this one on the big screen.
37I wanted to see it but I got sick watching Blair Witch Project, Little Children, and Bourne Ultimatum... I think Cloverfield will make me sick for sure. Bourne Ultimatum seriously made me want to murder the director.
38I felt a bit dodgy after seeing The Bourne Untimatum. I've been know to suffer from motion sickness do I'll probably have to pass on this.
39OMG! I thought I needed a dramamine to watch that movie!
40i wasnt sure i wanted to see this because i get nauseous very easily. BUT lucky for me i took a chance and i didnt feel sick at all. i didnt see anyone else get sick either.
oh, and i liked the movie. it couldve been better. but it was a good idea. i didnt expect it to be anything oscar-worthy lol
41This was a great movie!!! Filming was perfect!!! y dose a little bit of a shaky camera movements make this movie Terrible... if you couldnt watch this movie then how can you even drive in a car!!! or go on rides at amusement park... its not that bad... This was a perfect movie in every way!!!! 11/10!!!
