Every other Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
Your passion for Buffy the Vampire Slayer certainly came out in this recast — one of the biggest ever! I'm seriously impressed with the time so many of you put into your recasts, choosing actors to play numerous other characters and painstakingly explaining your picks.
Buffy herself seemed to be the toughest choice, though there were several common picks to play her, most notably Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell. Amber Tamblyn was another interesting choice, and I got a kick out of supertramp's explanation for her choice of Evan Rachael Wood: "If she can deal with Mr. Manson, she can handle vampires." Many of you leaned toward Tina Majorino to play Willow, and Ellen Page was another common pick for that role. As for Spike, I was particularly intrigued by caseystrip and alynn's choice of Cillian Murphy.

4Some of the picks are really good, but yikes, Kelsey Grammer? Ew ew double ew. I have to stand by the suggestions for Hugh Laurie in Gile's shoes as he would be over the top perfect as both straight laced Giles and Ripper.
Love the James Marsden choice--cheekbones, lean build, pretty eyes, and everything...and ha! people tend to confuse the name Marsden with Marsters already.
America Ferrara is a good choice for Willow. A really good choice. And I could see Justin Long filling the Xan-man's shoes.
5Spike? Not Angel? Grrr, it would have been interesting to see what everyone would have cast for him! But this casting seems great. Ellen Page sounds interesting too - what a different take! That would be a snarky, a little less smooth Buffy. I think Leighton Meester would be a little more sultry take, also interesting.

I'm loving the idea of America Ferrara as Willow. And Josh Duhamel as Angel.. yummo.
9I love these picks..except for Justin Long as Xander. I don't find Justin Long that attractive and I always had a hugggggeeee crush on Xander!

I didn't even think about this recast because I love this show so much and I couldn't even think of recasting it. But all in all, good recast. R-Bills as Cordi is great!

15Congrats! I loved Xander but i could see Justin Long playing him, other than that i can't picture any of those people. That was a hard one to recast.

18Ew wtf? the only ones I agree with are Rachel Bilson & Justin Long. Leighton Meister is not cool enough to be Buffy. And Angelina as Drusilla? She'd be a better Faith.
19I hate to be the lone voice of dissent here but I think this recasting is horrible! With the exception of Kelsey Grammer and possibly James Marsden, these actors are all lightweights who couldn't do justice to the roles. James Marsden is a decent actor but I seriously doubt he could even come close to doing as good a job as James Marsters. And Leighton Meester as Buffy? Sacrilege!
Then again, I worship at the altar of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and probably wouldn't be satisfied with anything other than the original cast.

22I think Rachel Bilson as Cordelia is good and I could see Kristen Bell as Faith but I don't know about the others. I especially don't see Leighton as Buffy, but then again I find it very hard thinking of anyone else ever filling the Buffy cast's shoes.

28I could def see Hugh Laurie as Giles and the picks for Buffy not so much that girl... I don't even know who that is someone that would work would be Ashley Tisdale the roles she has played kinda go along with the wacky side of Buffy and def not america for willow that wouldn't work.. I'm a huge fan of the series and I wouldnt watch a new series if it had some of the people picked some are better then others and some just wouldn't work
29i think it will be a young not known cast ...i love leighton but i dont see her like buffy
