Our little Gaby Solis from Wisteria Lane is trying her hand at a posthumous romantic comedy role, and admittedly, I don't know what to think about this. She plays a woman who dies and then haunts the new girlfriend of her former boyfriend. The trailer is . . . interesting. It looks like it feasibly could have been sort of similar to So I Married an Axe Murderer in tone, but maybe got a little lost along the way.
What do you think about Eva Longoria Parker's foray into playing a main character in a movie? Will you give Over Her Dead Body a shot when it opens February 1?

I love Paul Rudd, but I think this looks absolutely awful.
1Maybe a Netflix addition for much later.
2Looks terrible...Paul Rudd looks like the only redeeming quality. I did crack up at the "listened to Tori Amos" part.
3I saw this trailer when I went to see Juno. Looks like a giant piece of crap, and that makes me sad, because I only want Paul Rudd to do amazing, hilarious things.
4gawd, i have like this whole new respect for eva, which was never there to begin with. lol. if the blind item was true, eva does charity work behind closed doors by volunteering at a school. she doesn't want people knowing this because they might think it's for publicity when her intentions are sincere.
anyways THAT was completely off topic. lol.
5Oh, Paul Rudd. The concept's all right and it might be something I'd watch on tv one day, but I can hardly stand Eva as part of an ensemble cast for a 44 minute show. I don't even really want to entertain the idea of her carrying a film.
I agree with pinkflats -- I do have a new respect for her after reading that blind item (if it is, in fact, about her), but it's nowhere near enough to get me to watch this movie.
6I saw the trailer before either I Am Legend or P.S. I Love You, and I have to say Leave It. It just doesn't look worth watching in a theater.
7I voted love it, even though it looks REALLY crappy, only because I am a sucker for every romantic comedy that comes out and because PAUL RUDD is in it so I'll be seeing it (but maybe not until it comes out on DVD)

9Paul Rudd is the only redeeming factor here. I saw the preview earlier and it looked cute until halfway through when Eva and the actual premise of the movie was revealed. Skip it.

It's so 80s!!! There's no way it's going to be good but I'm going to love it anyways. Movies like this aren't supposed to be good. They're supposed to make you enjoy it and then hate yourself for enjoying it.

17I don't mind Longoria for some reason, but this just looks like crap. Why oh why oh WHY does Paul Rudd do these kind of crappy movies?? I don't get it! He's so talented! And adorable! It makes me think less of him to see him in utter dreck like this.

19I don't know, my problem is I can't see this as a coherent film because I cannot NOT see the characters as Phoebe's Mike and Gabrielle Solis..

23I think it would be a really good Oxygen original movie, but not a theater release. It looks too cheesy.
And Paul Rudd should have the kind of roles Chris O'Donnell got. He's really adorable, and deserves better than this sort of ... drivel.
