The highly anticipated Cashmere Mafia finally premiered last night, with another new episode slated for Wednesday. I've already told you I was a little disappointed. Now it's your turn: Will you be tuning in again?

I tend to agree with your assessment. Wayyyy too much going on in that first episode. I would have far preferred one main story line and one subplot, with more emphasis on character and relationship development. And yeah, what DO all of them do, anyway? We know that Lucy Liu's Mia is in publishing only because of her work-themed plotline, but the others?
My husband made a very astute comment towards the end: "It's like they had 12 writers working on it and they got 5 minutes each." Well said, babe.
Also, I think Liu and Otto (particularly the latter) are quite believable as savvy, ball-busting fem-zecutives, but O'Connor and Somerville -- eh, not so much.
I'll keep tuning in and hope that the series settles into its own rhythm, because it does have a lot going for it.
Oh, one more thing ... Mia's atrocious golfing outfit? That'll get you tossed off any respectable range in a New York minute. Blech.
1i thoughts that it was good - but to be honest, i'm not sure what all the character's names are and what they actually do. Like it was said in an earlier topic on here -they tried to do too much in the premier, but at least we only have to wait until Wed to see what happens next. i'm liking it so far. (especially seeing that Lucy is the new carrie bradshaw in wardrobe!)
2Eh, I'm more excited for Lipstick Jungle. I really liked that book.
3Definately not comparable to Sex and the City. I think the red head is a little on the old side. Alot did go on in one episdoe, it didn't feel like a premiere, I felt like I'd been watching this show for a few seasons. I was excited and the show did not live up to my excitement.
4I'll tune in again, but reluctantly. Your assessment of the show's pilot is right on, Buzz. Way too much going on to really care.
5Don't know what to say. Too much going on and could only take about 15 minutes of the show before I changed the channel.
6I liked it, and I honestly never thought about too much going on until I read Buzz's review. I'll watch again...I need another show for now.
7It was alright, but I'm pretty sure I'll keep watching with the strike and all.
8I thought it was okay. I will give it a few more eps before I make a decision to continue watching.
I have to say I'm excited to see Lipstick Jungle as well, at least we already know who these characters are...
9It was all right, I'll give it another shot.
10I thought it was great! I'll definitely be tuning in again on Wednesday.
11Don't they usually introduce the lesbian subplot, oh, I don't know, around sweeps time?
I thought it was OK--so far my favorite is Miranda Otto's character. Her whole speech about "taking a lover" was quite awesome. The engagement and breakup was too much for one episode, but obviously they're still going to do something with that since the dude works with Lucy Liu (Mia? I think that's the only name I remember). I don't really see any chemistry between the women so far, but eh, I'd watch it again.
(Oh, and did Lucy Liu draw the short straw to get the worst outfits? Good Lord. I'm about her size and I can't wear anything too overwhelming or busy--they put her in everything petite women should never wear...or, well, considering that weird black/gold dress with hoop earrings large enough a tiger can leap through them outfit during her engagement party, any woman should never wear
)
12It's too soon to tell. I felt the same way I felt about the Brothers & Sisters pilot, but after a few viewings I was addicted. I do really like the characters so far, but the attempts at drama came way too soon (***spoiler*** I don't know enough about whatshername's marriage to care that her hubby is cheating, or even to appreciate the fact that she's perfectly okay with it because she'd rather not be a single mother). Too much going on that would have been much more interesting if given more episodes to grow.
It also seemed a lot like the girl version of Big Shots. I think it would be great if ABC just merged the two.
13They are lucky there is a writers strike going on right now and tv is short on fresh content.
14It's a sex and the city knock-off, but I'm totally willing to give it a try
15Too soon to tell. I liked it. Being "older" it's about time there is another show with people around my age. Love the clothes. I'll watch it on Wednesday.
16I thought it was pathetic. They were shrill and so self aware -- constantly talking about how different and special and difficult their lives were. Its escapist fantasy pretending to be post modern feminist melodrama and it was BORING.
17I liked it...but there was A LOT going on, like everyone has said.
Is the mistress Big's ex-wife on SATC or I'm I off on that one?? Anyway, I think I will tune in again.
18I want to like this, particularly for Lucy Liu, but I have a hard time getting over the fact that it's such a blatant rip-off. However, I might go back and watch the first episode just to give a try.
19I liked it alot....although I will admit it seemed to be trying a leetle too hard to be SATC-ish.
20Big's ex wife was Bridget Moynihan....who is also Tom Brady's baby momma. I don't know who that actress last night was playing the mistress.
I couldn't decide last night, I'm sure I'll end up giving it a few episodes to see how it goes. However the one thing that kept irritating me is how these women are supposed to be so powerful "can do anything" type women and yet they came across so weak. The one can't have a career and be a good mom, the other can't have a career and a husband who loves her, one can't have a career and keep a guy, the last i don't know what her deal is yet.
and call me totally crazy, but i loved some of lucy liu's kooky clothes. i wanted those gigantic gold earrings, only I know they would look absolutely ridiculous in real life.
21I guess I'm lucky cos I never really watched SATC and can't tell if it's a knock-off or whatnot.
I think I liked Lucy better in Ally McBeal though. I just wasn't feeling her in this role.
22It was okay. I will definately watch the next episodes. Compared with the pilote episode of Lipstick Jungle I think I prefered that one. But the show has potential, even more now with the writers strike and lack of my regular shows.
23All I know is that the dubbing was so horrible that I could not concentrate on the actual words or plots. Their mouths and words were so far off! I won't watch again, just for that, thats how annoying it was!
24It's no sex and the city!!! but I will keep watching, might as well give it a shot since nothing else is on except crap reality shows!
25i loved it! i mean of course it wont be considered as good as SATC, there was A LOT going on, some plotlines were far too fast and the cast's chemistry is wavering a bit. however it does seem promising, i think everyone needs to wait it out. there are a ton of shows i didnt like right off the bat but loved after some time. the funny thing is, i kept wondering, what the hell are their jobs? i'm glad i'm not the only one who wondered that.
26citizenkane - yes, that's Big's Ex (the one before the days of Carrie).
So this show will be lucky to last very long unless it seriously improves. The show from 10-10:30 dipped by over 2 million viewers and the retention from the Desperate Housewives crowd was barely over 50%.
The disturbing thing is that the premier (I think) of American Gladiator, in almost every statistically measurable respect, out-performed Cashmere Mafia! Ouch
27I thought so...I know who Bridget Moynahan is (stick figure with no soul)...not her. His FIRST ex-wife......don't knwo that actress's name but I think she is playing the mistress here
28I liked it but as said by almost everyone, it was waaay to busy for a pilot. But I'll tune in again
29I love it!!!!
Its funny and makes sense at the same time
I like The show is glamorous and stylish.
My favor it was Juliet. She has a scene in the pilot that will made any woman, whose husband has cheated on her, cheer...GREAT!!!
30I was mildly entertained, and I'll probably keep watching. Surprisingly enough, I wasn't too impressed with Lucy Liu's character, she doesn't play her very believably. Oh, and the mistress is Big's first ex-wife, the publisher of childrens books. (Cathy and her Magic Cigarettes) I love it
31Not really interested because the sudden plot lines were not as strong as surprising or catchy like other shows that draw you in...its all been done before so its not suprising enough. If they had done something more comedic or horrifying, it might have been better but I don't think I will really tune in again...unless I just so happen to come across it... Although I do love the red head's revenge on her husband and her girl's backing her up! But sadly, it reminded me too much of Bree in desperate housewives...
32i liked the show. i saw the preview on the web, which showed the first segment.so i was left hanging for a week with this hubby who cheats.
so i set my reminder to watch the premier ( i don't watch TV that much, i JUST started watching Gossip Girl to see what the buzz was all about).
sure, it's a lot for the 1st episode.
[girl becomes engaged, guy is insecure-dumps her.
friend cathes friend's hubby cheating, friends posse up to tell her, she confronts hubby
b*tchy friend gets dumped at breakfast by some weenie, she's potentially lesbian by lunch, and kisses the girl within the week]
they should've introduced us to the characters and got us emotionally attached to them, present maybe HALF of the above stated and leave us wondering so we can check out next week's episode.
i'm still gonna try to watch it . . .
33I liked Lucy Lui's clothes too. Overall it was entertaining enough, what else is there to watch?
34I really liked it. And I love the clothes!
There was a lot going now but I guess they needed to use the pilot episode to lay the foundation for the rest of the show.
I will continue to tune in!
35Ha! Wednesday....Cathy and her magic cigarettes...Love IT!!!! Little Cathy...
36I really didn't feel like we got to know any of the characters very well, but I think I'll check out at least a few more episodes- I love Frances O'Connor.
37I watch it while I'm working out so maybe that's helping but liked it...I do think Lucy's clothes are way to much for her. She always looks like the clothes are wearing her.
38i think i could grow to like it, but they packed in too much in the first episode, and there was some seriously cheesy dialogue "bone voyage," anyone?
