Thanks to our Best of 2007 coverage, I've had plenty of time to reflect on my favorite albums and songs of the year. Just like last year, I've created a playlist of my top tracks of the year.
I've also got a second list in the works of my favorite songs from this year's movies and TV shows, so stay tuned for that — but without further ado, here are the songs I'll use to remember '07. What are yours?
1. "Keep the Car Running," the Arcade Fire
2. "Silver Lining," Rilo Kiley
3. "Myriad Harbor," the New Pornographers
4. "I Am John," Loney, Dear
5. "Past in Present," Feist
6. "Say Hello," Jay-Z
7. "Can't Tell Me Nothing," Kanye West
8. "All My Friends," LCD Soundsystem
9. "Last Light," Matt Pond PA
10. "Boy with a Coin," Iron and Wine
11. "The Opposite of Hallelujah," Jens Lekman
12. "Simple X," Andrew Bird
13. "A Sentence of Sorts in Kongsvinger," Of Montreal

i'm glad to see you not choose " 1,2,3,4" by feist. I love it but it is a bit over done these days. darn ipod commercials.
1lcd soundsystem is soo underrated. as is of montreal. they both freaking rock.
2Love Rilo Kiley! But Kayne...
3Rilo Kiley's Under the Blacklight album was my favorite of the year. All the songs were good (ok, except for maybe the last track).
4"The Opposite of Hallelujah" is so great
5i love feist. i've been listening to her for years, and she's one artist i'm really glad people are catching onto. i just wish it wasn't because of an ipod commercial!
6I agree, loooongjacket - "New York I Love You But You're Letting Me Down" is quite possibly my favorite song.
That Jens Lekman album is terrific. I would also like to put in a vote for The Pierces' "Lights On" and maybe also "Kill, Kill, Kill"
7Hmmm to remember '07... well not everything I've been listening to this year has been new stuff. The Verve tour had me listening to their stuff anew, so my songs of the year were...
Don't Make me a Target- Spoon
Books from Boxes- Maximo Park
Tick Tick Boom- The Hives
The Pretender- Foo Fighters
Moneymaker- Rilo Kiley
The People- Common
Also, I've been really into Ratatat, and I highly recommend giving them a listen. Lyric free, it's wonderful for studying!
8I'm really liking LCD Soundsystem, Muse and Interpol lately.
9say hello??? GREAT PICK!!! totally with you on that one
10I like your list, especially the Arcade Fire, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Matt Pond PA picks. Last Light is a great song, off of a great album by the same name. My fav. song on there, though, would have to be a toss up between Foreign Bedrooms and Taught to Look Away.
