Bella recently stumbled across this Kurt Cobain toy from National Entertainment Collectibles. The $23 figure is based on Nirvana's appearance on MTV's Unplugged and shows Cobain in jeans and a gray sweater, hunched over his guitar.
I'm not sure how to feel about this, so I'm turning to you: Is the Kurt toy a sweet tribute to a musical icon — or is it a tacky way to capitalize on Cobain's death?

I don't think it really looks like him, but I think a Nirvana fan would like it. They have figures of all kinds of people, sports figures, musicians, etc.
I wonder who is making all the money off this? I assume they have to have the rights to his image?
This is so wrong. Can you imagine his reaction to this?
And we wonder why kurt offed himself?
Tacky indeed.
Sadly, Kurt offed himself because he was another f*cked up poster child for heroin.
I'm a BIG Nirvana fan, and I would not want to receive this. I choose to remember and honor Nirvana by listening to their music, not collecting cheesy reproductions of their image. But, to each, their own.
I agree with "bhilb"! it doesn't look like him!!
I loved Nirvana and I think thats the stupidest thing ever.
Tacky! All music collectibles like these are just ugly (and they never look like the real person)!
Fans may like this - but he never would have wanted this.
I would agree if they made a t-shirt in tribute to him, but to make him into a toy... that is pathetic. That is an insult, almost mocking the fact that he is dead. I really don't understand some people...
he would have hated this as much as i do.
Tacky, tacky, tacky. It's amazing what people honestly think they can get money out of. And what's even more amazing is that strange people would buy this mess.
Wow. I don't have words for this. It just makes me really sad.
Kurt would have hated it. I would think a real fan wouldnt be able to bear buying one, knowing how much he would have detested that sort of thing. Makes me wonder who authorized it. Courtney Love shut down Doc Martens when they used his image in a commercial this past year, so I wonder....
I prefer the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" doll, but I wouldn't own either.
Kind of stupid. I'm not much of a Nirvana fan, but this is pretty weird either way.
yeah i agree. With how much Kurt was against commercialism and what it represented, he would never allowed this if he was alive.
I saw this or something very similar to this in Borders the other day, and I thought WTF? That's just wrong!
What would you do with this?
SO not Kurt. At all.
This is kind of weird.
