One of my favorite ways to get in the holiday spirit is to watch "The Snowman," the animated story of a little boy whose snowman comes to life and befriends him. The movie, which was based on a book by British author Raymond Briggs and told almost entirely without words, was nominated for an Oscar in 1983, but now it's hardly ever on TV. When it wasn't on The Christmas Spot's 101 Christmas videos list, I almost gave up on seeing it this year.
So I was thrilled to find this clip from the end of the film, in which the snowman and the boy travel to the North Pole, crash a snowman dance party, and meet Santa Claus. Sad ending alert: Don't forget what happens to snowmen when the sun comes out.
