I have a feeling if I had seen Atonement I would have picked Kiera Knightly (love her as an actress since Pride and Prejudice, I have a feeling Atonement will be an equally stellar
performance) - however, to date, Amy Ryan's performance was flawless in Gone Baby Gone.
DC Star - have to agree with you on Anne Hathaway. The movie itself was a little drab, and Anne Hathaway kind of fell into that feeling as well. James McAvoy kind of stole the spotlight from
Anne.
i'm so bad! i must have seen a million movies this year and i didn't see any of these. i'm gonna go with cate blanchett as well, even though she was in a supporting role.
Julie Christie is sweeping up awards for "Away From Her". It was directed by Sarah Polley (an actress, and this is her directorial debut). The movie wasn't widely seen, but I think that she
will be a big contender during Oscar season.
Keira Knightly, she's been topping the drama business since "Pride & Prejudice". I always wonder how she manages to act these roles so well... And at such a young age too.

Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
That's not even fair. Meryl has it on lockdown.
1I love Reese but have not seen that movie yet so i picked Amy Ryan she did an amazing job in Gone Baby Gone.
2i LOVE meryl streep!!!
3I do too Seraphim! She's phenomenal.
I was very disappointed in Anne Hathaway's performance in Becoming Jane.
4I picked Angelina Jolie. I thought she was phenomenal in A Mighty Heart. I haven't seen most of the other movies though.

11Kiera - hands down
12It's slim pickings this year with strong female performances...I picked Kiera by default cos the movie was so awesome.
13Up to this point I have 3 favorites:
Kerri Russell- for "Waitress
Emily Blunt - for "The Jane Austen Book Club"
Halle Berry - for "Things We Lost in the Fire"

remember those promos of rendition where at the reese would scream something like, "JUST TELL ME HE'S OKAY!!!!!!!" bad acting, bad acting there.
18i thought Keira, Anne, Reese were fantastic but i voted for Angelina she was incredible in the Mighty Heart.
19Angelina Jolie was amazing in A Mighty Heart!
20Angie in A Mighty Heart she's definitely getting an Oscar nod for that!!! AMAZING!
