A week from tonight, NBC will kick off a four-night holiday special called Clash of the Choirs. Five musicians — Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland, and Blake Shelton — have recruited singers from their hometowns for the choir battle, and they'll face off live with songs ranging from holiday carols to pop hits. No, even if I wasn't boycotting all reality TV would not watch this.
1I am going to have to watch it since My mother's favorite Michael Bolten is on it. Otherwise I would be hearing about it anyway.

6I have sung in many choirs over the course of my life, I'm an alto, but even I think that this is a ridiculous idea for a reality show. If I wanted to watch a bunch of choirs sing on television, I'd tune into PBS. (Not that there's anything wrong with PBS.)

10As a big fan of 'Sister Act 2' (in which a choir becomes Totally Hip and Breaks It Down 1990s Style For Old-Fashioned Audiences), I think there'll be much cheesy fun to derive from this.
