These days it seems everyone on the Internet is drafting up lists left and right, so here's a super-duper fun one: the best fictional bands of all time! Based on readers' votes, Grūpthink has listed off the top 50-ish bands that don't really exist. Some of them are rather obscure, but the top 25 or so should be familiar. However, because this is based on readers' votes, the order can change at any time depending on how many new votes come in.

i LOVED jem and the holograms when i was a kid....i had the dolls, and the cassettes and the movie. and then when i was in college, i found the songs again, and now occasional jam out when i need a nostalgia flashback in my car =)
and josie and the pussycats is pretty awesome too....loved the cartoon, and am kinda obsessed with the movie remake...the soundtrack rocks too =)

11But in all seriousness, Wyld Stallions are numero uno! Remember when they actually learn how to play in the future? And they have the babies onstage? And their girlfiends are rocking out? Perfection!
Zac Attack should definitely be higher; seriously Saved By the Bell was awesome. Also did anybody ever watch California Dreams (it came on right after Saved By the Bell) they had a great fictional band.

15shells, i totally forgot about california dreams, but yes, their fake band was awesome as well. one of my favorite episodes of saved by the bell is where zac attack is famous....and then it all ends up being a dream....love it!!

21I was Jem for Halloween last year, so I think someone that truly truly truly outrageous better be way higher on the list.

I'm not gonna lie, the Gorillaz have always confused me. are they real? are they not? is it the same people singing, writing the songs? Is the only reason they are considered fictional because they don't come out on stage and perform. I don't get it. I don't think I ever will.
But they should make a live action Jem and the Holograms movie just like they did with Transformers. Amy Adams could totally by Kimber! it's a terrible idea I know, but somehow I keep holding onto hope that they will do it and that it will be amazing!

46I don't think the Gorillaz should be fictional. They do have live concerts, you just can't see them. They are the same as any other band except they are represented by cartoons in in their videos.
