All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to the following movie picks, the sixth season of 24 is now on DVD if you wish to relive that particular experience.
Superbad
This Apatow-produced comedy is bawdy, fun and hilarious. Jonah Hill and Michael Cera star as best buddies facing the end of their senior year at high school. For one fateful night they team up with the goofy yet supremely confident Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) — who obtains a fake ID that says his name is simply McLovin — to party, get girls and generally live it up before graduation. The boys find themselves having crazy funny and bizarre misadventures, all with a raunchy tone a la American Pie (but much funnier).
The special features for this film sound like a ton of fun, from the gag reel to the cast audition footage (clips from the auditions of Michael Cera, Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse) to something called "Michael's Voicemails from Jonah."

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
This third in the Pirates trilogy was a huge crowd pleaser this past summer. In the last of the swashbuckler series, Will (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) team up with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) to liberate our beloved Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and travel to Singapore to confront a scary Chinese pirate played by Chow Yun-Fat.
If you obtain the two-disc set of the film you'll find a solid offering of extras, including several featurettes on the film's production, interviews and a blooper reel.

Michael Cera is such a cute kid, I'll def rent that film!
However, as much as I enjoyed POTC 1 and 2, I fell asleep halfway through this one (which usually never happens to me). I was really disappointed, I just couldn't get into the story, and got a bit bored of the whole 'getting Jack in hell' and 'fighting against even more monsters' storyline.
1Although the scene where Jack is in hell (with all the crabs) was visually really interesting, and not only because there were 15 Johnny Depps on the screen hehe!
I was disappointed with Superbad.
2Although, I love Michael Cera...
3I LOVED Superbad. I've seen it like 3 times now and still laugh out loud at half the movie. I think the cops are hysterical. It's kind of dumb gross humor, so I can see how it's not for everyone, but I can watch it over and over. Even my parents loved it!
4I thought I would hate this movie but it did have some laugh out loud moments!
5superbad was the best!! cant wait for juno..
6Superbad's funny in parts, and I can see where it could be hilarious to some, (and I feel lame for even saying this,) but it ended up sort of depressing me. I think it was just all the gross humor and borderline misogynism, which would have been fine if they didn't recycle the same old humor from its predecessors.
I will say the acting really carried the film and is a diamond in the rough in relation to teen humor movies, so I'll give Superbad that.
7I loved Superbad!!
8I'm going to add Superbad to my list and get a few as stocking stuffers.
9superbad was a lil sadder than i expected...but nonetheless i liked it...and laughed....! michael cera is such a qt and i really love jonah's hair and mclovin...that was pretty classic!!! michael cera singing "these eyes"....too funny!
10I expected SuperBad to be a LOT funnier but it wasn't. It was kinda stupid and gross. I did like it but I was expecting to blow me away like 40 Year Old Virgin did...
