For the second weekend in a row, Enchanted hypnotized audiences, topping the box office by a long shot with $17 million. Family holiday flick This Christmas stayed strong at No. 2, though took home about half as much as Enchanted did. Beowulf followed up in third place while the new psychological thriller Awake came in at No. 4 with $6 million. Hitman just barely edged out Fred Claus for fifth place.
This weekend I'll be curious to see if The Golden Compass succeeds in drawing the masses that New Line is so desperate to see. According to Variety, the studio held sneak preview screenings this past weekend, hoping to "boost interest in the film, which has been lagging in tracking, although awareness is high." Also opening this Friday is the romantic drama Atonement, starring James McAvoy and Keira Knightley.

I would go see Enchanted again over any of the other films playing. I LOVED it!
1I saw Awake on friday. I thought it was good.
2I want to see this! My bf's little nephew saw this already, tell me why I'm jealous.
3I loved Enchanted, I saw it with a friend and then I saw it again with my husband. I had a lot of fun.
4I've seen it twice already. It is so cute. I love how it brings in traditional Disney but puts a completely new spin on it.
5I just saw Enchanted and I loved it! It was so cute, and Pip was the best.
6DANG,those are some big sleeves.
7I might be the only person that didn't like it, i mean its ok in a gilty pleasure sort of way but 3/4 into the movie I could no longer help cringing and saying 'Oh lord' and 'why oh why?' out loud. I mean its grat for kids and its definetly cute but it is just TOO darn sweet for me to handle.
