First of all, this week's Gossip Girl should have aired last Wednesday. A super sentimental Thanksgiving episode after the fact loses a lot of its awww factor, if you know what I mean. Also, no Chuck at all? What gives? All that being said, it was cool to get some flashbacks to what the kids were all like one year earlier. Also, next week's episode looks awesome. Here are my thoughts:

- Before I get to my two cents, check out Bella's Beauty Quiz, Fab's Fashion Quiz and Geek's Tech Quiz on last night's episode. Fun fun.
- I so did not miss the presence of Gossip Girl herself.
- The episode jumped straight into the Blair/Serena drama, eh? Blair was pretty snippy towards Serena, but to be fair B did forgive S pretty quick for sleeping with her boyfriend. Serena really doesn't have any place to be so judgey. Maybe it's just because I have a soft spot for Chuck.
To read the rest of my thoughts about Thanksgiving Gossip Girl-style, just read more
- Can I just say: Thank god Serena and Dan finally know about their parents' past. Sure, it made their Thanksgiving a little awkward, and Dan will probably have some seriously introspective moments about wanting to be with Serena, but at least it's out in the open.
- Speaking of which, Rufus and Alison made up pretty quickly. What? That's all wrapped up in a matter of minutes. I want to care about their plot line, really I do, I just can't.
- Second best line of the episode: "French fries, and keep 'em coming." Amen, sister.
- Ah, Blair. This episode gave us the best insight into her. Just one year before her life seemed perfect. Even though her kinda jerky boyfriend and best friend were having a flirty water fight upstairs at her family's Thanksgiving...her parents seemed happy and she didn't have a care in the world. And now, she's without Nate, Serena is really only kind of trying to understand, her dad is off in Europe with another man and filing divorce papers, her mom is sort of dishonest...and she maybe has eating issues? Poor B.

- Best line of the episode: "You know what's really weird? There's a garage door in the middle of your room."
- Nate is totally, totally a dolt, but a bumbling defenseless one. I sort of feel like he's a blind puppy — he needs help doing most things. I mean, his mom sucks, but Nate isn't much better.
- The final set of scenes was actually pretty sweet with all the kids and their respective parents bonding over football, french fries, tea. Let's see how long that peacefulness lasts.
Next week, the return of Chuck! And drama! And Blair and Nate making out in their underwear. Yeah, that promo was awesome. What did you think about last night's episode? Do you agree that it was sort of ruined by not being on last week before Thanksgiving? Did you love the flashbacks? Don't you wish Eric would stop dying his hair?

Ugh I can't satnd Dan's mother, she reminds me of Abigail in the Lovely bones, I mean WHAT GIVES? The b*tch leaves her kids and husband and she throws a whole temper tantrum because Rupert kissed Serena's mom while she was away? I know people make bad decisions but what pisses me off is when they're hypocritical about it, just like Allison.
1I agree w/ nikecold. Plus Serena's mom is way hotter!
2Also agree with nikecold....He should dump Alison and get with Lilly but that would be kinda weird for the kids huh???
Where the heck was chuck this week???
3have to agree also on the Dan's mother thing, she did sleep with someone else while she was married.
Serena was a mess! LOL, and she isn't a good friend, but she is learning from her mistakes.
I kinda missed chuck, that little scarf and grin, from the look of the next episode he will be left alone, good!
I'm sooo harsh hahahaha
4i actually like rufus with lily.. i like their story line. still love serena's hair, blair's clothes and dan. hehe. i don't like chuck.. he is sooo gonna tell nate that he and blair slept together. poor b.. i feel for her
5blaire has the best lips or something,,, they are just so nice,,,
6Totally agree about Eric's hair. Love the line about his roots!
7I loooved last nights episode. But there was one thing missing....Chuck. I don't know what it is about him, I think it's his arrogance, but he totally turns me on!
Overall, I thought last night was.....poetic....I think that's the word I'm looking for, yeah. It starts with the flashbacks of everyone happy, and enjoying Thanksgiving. But in the end, you realize that all of that was fake, and once the truth came out, everyone was truely happy. No one had to hide anything anymore. I could go on, and on....but I won't.
8I know what this episode needs....more Chuck!!!
9i thought dan's dad was rufus...not rupert. can't wait until next week's episode!
10Do you think they are running this episode late because of the writers' strike? Perhaps like they are trying to space them out so that they won't be running re-runs all at once later in the season.
It does seem rather untimely.
11LOL I had forgotten Eric's "roots"
12I personally thought the best line of the night was Eric with, "Ignore my roots." It was funny because I was wondering about his hair color at the beginning of the episode.
Anyway, I think maybe this is the reason why Blair Waldorf is the smartest character on the show: "Mom, he's living in Europe... with a man. You can't be that surprised that he wants a divorce."
13Blair never disappoints, but sheesh, the parents' storyline is so ho-hum. Who cares? Seriously.
141. I love Blair. I love Blair and I love Chuck, and I love Chair, or Bluck, or whatever their combined couple name would be.
152. Serena...oh, Serena. You're nice, but you're a doofus.
3. Rufus! You suck! Your wife left you and had an affair, and she's demanding you cut all ties with the mom of your son's true love? WTF? Wimpy Rufus!
4. Jenny, you're a fool.
Chuck? Chuck? Where's my Chuck????
16i'm done with allison. completely done.
love b and s and lonely boy in this ep. the lack of gg over the past few week was sad but i'm really excited for next week!
17I'm so over Blair and her million headbands... Was there a single scene where she wasn't wearing one?
18I never understood why Serena was mad at Blair for sleeping with Chuck. But anyways, I had to wonder what this episode was doing airing today.
19i don't think we've seen the last of rufus and lily- cause that would just be too easy. i actually like those two together and i do not like the mom at all- she seems so out of place with the humphrey family dynamic. i can believe the other 3 are related- i can't believe that she is their mom- she doesn't play it well at all! that being said- the rufus and lily thing would be a bit weird at the moment with serena and dan dating and jenny and eric so buddy buddy!
it was nice to see more depth to blair then shallow b*tch!
nate annoys me. bad acting.
20The whole before/after thanksgiving issue didn't bother - mainly because I'm from England so it didn't really resonate. Plus, I'm used to TV shows being out of sync with the seasons.
21Mum Humphrey needs to go away. Now.
I liked the flashbacks - If not simply to see what they would've looked like a year ago (anyone notice Eric's darker hair?)
I liked that both Blair's mum and Nate's dad seemed a little more normal and nice this week. I also liked that Nate's dad finally admitted that something was wrong, it was getting frustrating.
I missed Chuck, Kati and Isabel. But mostly Chuck.
I don't think serena was mad at blair... I just think she's worried that blair ruined what should have been a special thing for her... I think she wants blair to learn from her mistakes as well
22Isn't it mysterious that both Gossip Girl and Chuck were away this episode?
23Isn't it mysterious that both Gossip Girl and Chuck were away this episode?
24what's dolt?
25Haha I agree with you Buzz, the first thing I thought when this episode started was "they should have aired this last week." i'm over thanksgiving already.
26i thought the best line was Eric's "Great, Mom, so we can starve to death in a FRAGRANT hotel" when the Blonde Family were checking out non-traditional Thanksgiving things in Chi-town
27"Dolt" simply means "a stupid person."
I was wondering when they were going to introduce Blair's bulimia...
28i agree mommy humphrey needs to head back to wherever she was having her cheating escapades. how un-fair was it to force lilly out of thier lives? she was away cheating for god knows how long for goodness sakes. and i agree, why why why didn't they air this last week? i didn't miss vanessa either...
was i the only one hoping nate had called jenny when he was looking through his phone? way to spice up the drama for next week
29Allison needs to go -.- She was just gone, cheating and then suddenly came back and everything is back to normal. And she can't be gone for that long, like from the beginning of summer and she came back, not seeming to understand her children at all... She needs to be written out of the show
30Alison looks like she is the same age as her daughter and im thinking obviously she had to know while living in the house before she left that Dan had it for Serena and that Serena was Lilly's daughter??! But yeah I agree how can she be upset about a kiss when she was living with some guy?! Wish he was with Lilly but then Serena and Dan would be awkward
31I hate Nate, HATE HATE HATE him!!!! I think I hate him more than Serena now as if that were possible. I am so on Lily's side. Allison needs to get over herself and Rufus needs to come to his senses and be with Lily. And I totally totally love Blair. She's amazing. Poor Chuck though!! I hate the promos for the next ep because Chuck looks so sad =(
32I was wondering when they were gonna show that Blair has bulimia since in the book it's her thing. She vomits after EVERY time she eats. I was beginning to think it was too sensitive for TV or some association will ban it for discussing such a subject.
I loved how subtle they introduced the Blair being bulimic thing though.
33I think that Blair is the best character and Leighton is the best actress on the show. She is genuine and you feel her pain of not being Nate's true love and disappointment with her family splitting up and her father living with a man instead of with her mom. Her struggles make her human and I hope that they don't focus too much on her bulimia but keep it an under-the-surface kind of thing that creeps on her and the viwer when you least expect it.
34Susie Misner, the actress that plays Alison Humphrey, was "Pop" in the Cell Block Tango from the movie Chicago. She's an incredible dancer.
But I don't like her character on this show!
35oh my gosh, i wanted nate to call jenny too! i hoping there is more of that in the future. and i also love chuck and blair! and i want to see more of serena and nate making out from the past cause that is seriously smokin'!
36has anyone else been noticing how the show has barely been following the books?
the flashbacks to thanksgiving should have been two years ago, since serena was at boarding school the year before. duh.
and if you liked the flashbacks and are up for some trashy high school chick lit, read the gossip girl prequel. its pretty hard to put down.
37I was looking for this episode last week, I thought I had missed it. I also hate Dan and Jenny's mom.
Yes, I was hoping Nate would call Jenny too. Do they hook up in the books? I might actually have to break down and borrow the books from the Library or something, even though I'm not a teen/tween.
I so want Dad Humphrey to date Lily. I'm starting to like Lily more and more each week.
I don't get why everyone hates Serena so much, I think she's cute. I wish we could see more of a true personality, she seems kind of boring and holier than thou compared to her flashback self.
38I watch for Blair/Leighton. That girl is awesome.
39Dan's mom and Vanessa need to go!!!! I'm glad this episode was Vanessa-free but Dan's mom still ruined it!
40I am dying to know where Serena's jacket is from in the first scene. It was a tan and gold leather jacket I think. If anyone has any ideas let me know!!!
xoxo
41Ugh I hate Nate. He's so... Vanilla. Go Blair and Chuck!
