Tim Burton just keeps on truckin'! Having not even released his grisly musical movie version of Sweeney Todd, Burton has just signed with Disney to create two more projects: Alice in Wonderland and Frankenweenie. Variety has more:
Alice in Wonderland... will combine performance-capture imagery, currently seen in Beowulf, with live-action footage. Script by Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast) is based on the Lewis Carroll classic.
Burton will helm and produce Frankenweenie, based on his 1984 short film about a pet dog brought back to life by his loyal owner. Pic will be shot in stop-motion animation and shown in digital 3-D.
Hooray for more Tim Burton! I simply cannot wait to see what he does with the fantastical Alice in Wonderland story. Which part do you think Helena Bonham Carter will play?

2I LOVE Tim Burton! This is such awesome news! I love that the Digital 3D is becoming so popular- it really is an awesome way to see a film. I saw Monster House in it last year, and Nightmare Before Christmas in it just last weekend, and they were both incredible. I can't wait to see Beowulf this weekend, and my most anticipated film for next year, Coraline, both in Digital 3D

12This sounds exciting. I'm hoping it's more of Return to Oz than Wizard of Oz take on the story. Hopefully he will team up with Danny Elfman again for these next two projects!!! I would love to see Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter!!!
