Hey, it's me, Buzz, pinch-hitting for Molly this week. While this week's episode of Gossip Girl was full of the usual tears, drama, and awkward situations, I have to say that I was surprised by how tame it was. Nobody throws a party quite like Blair Waldorf, but I was expecting a lot more drunken debauchery and a little less Guitar Hero. That said, this episode still brought a healthy dose of Wednesday night guilty pleasure, so let's get down to it. And don't forget to take Fab's fashion quiz and Geek's tech quiz while you're at it!

- Vanessa is starting to annoy me to no end. She and Dan are supposed to be BFF but she doesn't tell him that she got a job? Plus, is she going to catch Serena and Dan making out in every episode? Granted, they really need to get a room.
- As much as I usually can't stand Chuck, I'm starting to feel for the guy. He didn't pressure Blair into doing anything she didn't want to, so he doesn't deserve all the crap she gave him. Also, the scene with the necklace was almost sweet enough to make me forget that he kinda tried to date rape two of the main characters in the season premiere.
- Okay, can someone tell me what happened to Serena's little brother Eric? He and Jenny were totally the cute freshman couple and suddenly he's off the show and nobody talks about him at all?
To read more of my thoughts (warning: spoilers!) just read more
- So, Blair gave up her V-card to Chuck. The religious aspect of the opening scene was kind of totally out of the blue, but it was pretty priceless when Blair said she "surrendered her virtue" and asked the priest for a birthday wish. The Da Vinci Code reference was also kinda great.
- Nate's parents are super awkward, not to mention totally dim. The scene where his dad is trying to convince Nate the the whole scandal isn't really a big deal was painful.
- The way the Archibalds are trying to force an engagement on their son to save the deal with Eleanor Waldorf is starting to make the show feel like a bizarre modern day Jane Austen novel.
- Um, is it just me or does it seem like Dan and Jenny's mother doesn't really know her kids, like, at all?
- All the kids on this show have amazing wardrobes, yet Blair's little minions are dressed as sailors. What?
- The scene where Serena and Vanessa face off over a game of Guitar Hero was so random that it made me feel uncomfortable. First of all, are we really expected to believe that S and B sit around and practice their video game skills? Plus, couldn't they have come up with some other, more scandalous way to vie for Dan's affections? Even a dance-off would've been more exciting. Also, Serena's guitar faces. Awkward.
- "You went down almost as hard as Britney at the VMAs." Love it.
- The random girl taking a picture on her camera phone of Nate and Jenny was pretty aggressive (not to mention creepy) but also makes me wonder if Gossip Girl has minions all over the city. Side note: The text she sent to Blair was way harsh.
- As creepy as Chuck can be, I think I like him and Blair together. Nate is too vanilla for her, and their banter is pretty entertaining, especially when Blair is telling Chuck to kill his inner butterflies.
- So now Jenny is going to end up with Nate (which begs the question, Jenny — how dumb are you, really?) and Blair and Chuck are still hooking up and only Serena knows. I can't wait to see what happens when Nate and Blair find out what their friends have been up to.

So what did you think? Is Jenny totally in over her head? Are you wishing all of the parents would relocate to a desert island so we don't have to watch them anymore? I'm kind of over them myself. And will Dan and Serena be able to make it through an episode without a Vanessa interruption?

Chuck was so adorable in this episode! The part with the necklace was so sweet. I'm totally rooting for Blair and Chuck.
Vanessa is annoying me as well, does she not have her own life? And I was wondering the same thing, where did Eric go?
Nate's parents are completely stupid. Poor Nate.
Jenny is still annoying, but Nate and Jenny should be interesting for all the drama they will create
1Vanessa said she told Dan she got a job, but he wasn't listening. And I'm totally fighting the part of me that is now in love with Chuck.
2I think Blair's minions were meant to be Japanese school girls. The theme of the party was Japan and school girls in Japan wear outfits that look like girly sailor outfits.
3seriously...what was up with the twinsy sailor outfits? was it supposed to be Japanese themed? like they were anime girls are something? sidenote: the sushi totally made me hungry!
4Chuck is growing on me too...who was the one tat turns out gay in book. was tat nate?
5I love Chuck and Blair together! They have alot of chemistry-- unlike Blair and Nate. I too was wondering where Serena's little brother was. Jenny is extremely naive. I don't like Rufus' wife. He and Lilly should be together. I was glad that Nate finally stood up to his parents. Serena and Dan's plot was my least favorite with Vanessa always around. More Chuck and Blair!!
6I've shipped Chuck/Blair for a couple eps...yeah. It's good time to be me. I love them together. I think Jenny needs to be seriously put down.
7ugh i am so over nate's mom. she's a complete idiot and women like her make the entire female race look bad. vanessa is annoying with a capital A and needs to go away. every scene with her in it is awkward, which might be a result of the actors just not having good on-screen chemistry or maybe she's just playing the part badly. plus she played a grown woman on "what about brian" and now i'm supposed to pretend she's in high school? it's just not working for me. and true, chuck is a dog, but it's a nice thought that maybe blair is that girl that turns him around. then again, no more a-hole chuck antics? i'm not ok with that. man i love love love this show!
8This is the first real episode I watched, it was decent. I really only watched for Jessica Szohr because she is oh so gorgeous, loved her on What About Brian. She looked much more mature then. But yeah, with that said...I LOVE Vanessa. Dan might be the hottest guy on there but Vanessa is deserving of an even hotter one.
9the actress playing dan/jenny's mom really annoyed me for no apparent reason whatsoever. i wish they'd pull a mid-season actress swap
10well nate and jenny do get together in books, granted a few books into the series, but they could be bumping up that story line i guess
11i'm totally team BLUCK OR CHAIR or whatever it is. Love them together. they have such good chemistry. nate bores me to tears, and serena and dan are starting to visit dullsville a little too often as well. i really like vanessa. i just wish she could hang out with more interesting characters. and i want serena's hair and blair's wardrobe.
by the way, connor paolo, who plays eric is awesome, and should totally be back on the show.
12I really love this show! The chemistry between Chuck and Blair is great. First they dislike each other so much and then they are finding a real 'likeness' for each other, even a little crush on each other. His feelings are starting to show, you could see the disappointment for her with Nate not showing up to her birthday party. And now that Nate has stood up to his parents, who are such losers and will exploit their son for their benefit, maybe everyone will get to be who they want to be with, rather than their rich parents' choices.
13jenny and dan's mom was about 14 years old. all the parents look too young but that was really just very distracting. haha
14I loved this episode and I agree that Dan parents look too young! the only problem is that we all have to wait 2 weeks to see another new episode...is this cuz of the strike or thanksging?
15In the books they think Dan is gay.
It's also believed that he ends up with Vanessa.
16Nate's parents and Dan's mom are all really bad actors or their characters have no debt. Or both of the above. I think it's painful to watch the scenes with them in.
But the opening scene in the church was hilarious and so typical Blair (in the books especially). "Truthfully, I'm not even Catholic." *lol*
17Loved the Silas reference. The priest was great.
18yeah i didn't really like dan's mom. what kind of mother just abandons her children? rawr she made me kinda angry lol
ok i have to agree that i love the banter between blair and chuck but he kinda creeps me out still. he seems to have actual feelings for blair though, which surprised me
and yes, in the books dan questions his sexuality and i think he's pretty much gay. i've never read the books but read an interview with penn badgley and that's what he said
19vanessa needs to go - preferrably head-first into a compactor. nate and jenny are clearly meant for one another as are chuck (clearly, between him and my obsession over joaquin phoenix, i have an affinity for men who appear slightly unhinged) and blair (i felt terribly sorry for her although she is beyond uptight) and will serena wake up? hello??! when hot girl crawls through your boyfriend’s window and starts “randomly” appearing, this is a sign to initiate a beat down (or a spray down with RAID), not some air-guitar rock-off or what not.
and S - could you and Dan get a room??!!

20i agree, most of the parent's story lines are really lame and boring. I also love the drama with chuck and blair, it's so interesting.
21The sailor outfits were to go with the japanimation themed party! Haven't you ever seen sailor moon, or a bunch of other anime cartoons? That's how the girls dress
I thought that Mrs. Humphrey was really poorly cast, she's totally lame. I also think that B&C make the best couple ever! The necklace scene totally made my night.
22not my favorite episode so far.
23I'm starting to really like Chuck! Although, I had to fast forward through the last bit of video game playing, because it actually making me feel embarrassed for the characters.
24It's my guilty pleasure. I like the Blair/Chuck scenes. I am also tired of Vanessa. Can't wait till the next show.
25Chuck and Blair do seem better together, just like Dan and Serena. The thing with Vanessa always showing up is over the top, Dan needs to put her in her place instead of acting like a wimp. If she really wanted just be friends she would stay away, but it's obvious she wants more and Dan is not willing to see that, yet. Drama drama drama
26i don't like vanessa. i like the drama that could come with chuck and blair. i don't like nate but i'm glad he stood up to his parents. nate's mom is horrible. so is dan and jenny's mom. she was way too young. also- how long has she been gone, i thought only a few months? i agree with buzz- she seemed to not know her kids at all- like she was a complete stranger! dan and serena i still like- though yes they need a room. jenny i am undecided on. i like where the rufus and lily (?) storyline was going- i hope she comes back to cause some drama. maybe she was off with eric this week lol (yes they should bring him back i think he was better suited for jenny than nate!)
27No please, not Nate and Jenny. Me too, I don't like it when Vanessa's around. She annoys me. Anyway, Blair looked beautiful in her black dress!(just have to say that)
28I was so amazed with Chuck. Talk about surprise! All I could think about when Serena walked in was, "Oh, Serena!! Stop!" haha.
29i think chuck and blair ROCK! they will def keep me watching and the fashion of course! i think all of the parents suck! rufus is about the only normal one of the bunch. he and lily would be good together. the whole guitar hero thing made me cringe. parts of the show are so hot and then they throw in the guitar thing and it totally throws me!
30I really really like Chuck after this episode! I hope they don't turn him back into a SOB. I think I'm starting to crush on him too.
31Blair and Chuck are the only reason I watch this show. I say this every week but I don't think I could ever get my point across. They're perfect together and all their fans can see that. Nate is DEFINITELY too vanilla for Blair, she deserves Chuck...who actually cares about her and wouldn't date her to save his parents.
32Why couldn't he just stick to the book? Shame, shame.
33Anyway, Leighton Meester is the only one who makes me feel any emotion at all. Chuck's good too.
Guitar Hero??? What was that you expecy us to believe that in the Upper Eastside they play Guitar Hero?
I can believe the Humphery mom is back. I kinda liked the episodes without her and without vanesa, The mom doseant know anything about her kids, and then Jenny having to tell her to come home?!
Speaking of Vanesa she has the habbit of walking in on Serena and Dan. A LOT. She is soo in love with Dan.
Blair and Chuck?? Ew, Im sorry but I am not fan of them. I feel bad for Blair, I mean giving away her V-card to him?????
I feel bad for Nate. Whos parents pressure you to ask to marry someone sooooo wrong, and poor nate doseant even love Blair. Hes head over dress shoes for Serena. I mean in the masquarde episode where he kissd Jenny and thought it was Serena!!
Cant wait for the next episode. Gotta Love GG! ♥
34um, the sushi looked A-mazing. And I know that a lot are against but Jenny/Nate did have a brief hook-up in the books, and I kind of like them together. They seem better suited, as do Blair/Chuck. Their banter cracks me up. Very Summer/Seth season 1 ... ok, I'll stop with the OC references.
35i have to admit really like chuck no. at the end of episode 7 at the club when blair is dancing started it all. i used to hate him, but not anymore.
and nate has never been attractive to me. very boring.
i hope eric comes back though
36i argee with almost everything
37with that said im still addicted
and blair and chuck are great together!!!
doe anyone know if this is coming to the uk-it is always in this site so would be fab to know what all the fuss is about x
38I thought Blair said that it was her pre-Birthday party? anyways, i need Vanessa to go! Ugh! Can't stand her! I don't like Jenny's mom either. I like Rufus with Lily. And I think Chuck and Blair are perfect for each other! I love that Chuck has butterflies in his stomach...precious!
39great episode! chuck was strangely tolerble, and so sweet to get blair the diamond necklace! i adored her dress, it was classy and accentuated her teeny waist = )
can't wait til the next episode in what, two weeks?
40I missed the first 15 minutes of this episode, but...
Jenny has an annoying voice.
Vanessa has an annoying personality.
I'm voting against Dan's mother, too --
Especially since I like the idea of the his father reuniting with Serena's mom.
Serena looks too old for high school -- Her face is very mature.
I would never trust Chuck enough to date him seriously.
Even if Blair really, really, really loves Nate, who gets engaged in high school? Especially Manhattanites!!
Blair's sidekicks: Tweedle-Dumb & Tweedle-Dumber
Other sites kept complaining about the poor dialogue in the show, but I never really noticed it until the butterflies scene. *CRINGE*
P.S. It may not seem like it, but I'm addicted to the show!
41obviously all nate needs is some girl to talk to. it became clear this time around. i love chuck and blair together, they look mad cute. dan and serena are starting to annoy me to no end all they do is kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss. and public making out is so trailor trashy. a little peck here and there is enough people. vanessa annoys me too, but we knew that lol.
42Loved Chuck a lot more than normal this episode, he was kinda sweet.
43I do not like Vanessa or Mum Humphrey - both annoy me. I'm actually starting to find Jenny irritating too now.
I think I actually uttered the words 'Gosh, she's thick as f**k' in regards to Nate's mum.
Dan is starting to seem a little dim too - mostly the way he handles the whole Vanessa/Serena situation.
I love how Blair's clothes are so appropriately costumey, the veil whilst confessing was pretty cool.
i pretty much agree with yor points, but come on Vanessa loves Dan... and who could not? he's the cutest guy on the show. i actually really trully hate Nate... don't find him attracktive at all. probably because everyone alse does
he's too Zac Efron. but the Vanessa story -
i totally get her, and she's doing really well. I could never be that nice to my love's girlfriend. I usually try and use every chance to mock her. but that's just me
44I actually like Vanessa...and I agree with Allytta, she's in love with Dan. He's also been her best friend forever, so their friendship is her life. One of the hardest or biggest issues in a "best" friendship is the issue of sharing time when one of the friends gets a companion.
Nate is finally growing on me. Before, he was such a wimpish push-over, but now that he's sticking to his guns and standing up to his parents, I'm really liking him. I absolutely love Chuck, well aside from the almost date rapes, and I love him and Blair together. I do miss Serena's brother, because I really was liking the frienship that he and Jenny were starting to have. As for Dan and Serena...I love them!!!
