This one has been around for a few months, but I have to make sure that no one misses one of the best music videos of 2006: The Pipettes' "Pull Shapes." Not only is this song one of my favorite happy songs of this year, but the video also cracks me up, with its ambiguously retro and flirtatiously fun visuals. I also love the juxtaposition between the swanky big-band orchestration and a bit of riot girl edge. The perfect thing to get you going for Saturday night.

Most excellent. It turns out The Go! Team, who sings one of my favorite happy songs ("Huddle Formation"), is signed to the same label. Two good bands from the same label means I need to go buy some CDs.
1Love it! This seems to pay homage to the scene in "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" when Z-Man introduces the band Carrie Nation...("This is my happening, and it's freaking me out!!")
2The song is so good!

I must say, adolescence is one hell of a ride!
I love it.
4I love the Pipettes - they were the very first band I profiled when I started my RockSugar suite a few months back. They're so much fun!
