The unlikely success of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah was one of the biggest music stories of 2005. The band burst out of nowhere with a self-released CD, and after garnering stellar reviews from a few influential web sites, the Brooklyn band became a shining example of how to sell music on the Internet.
To whet our appetites for its sophomore effort, called Some Loud Thunder and due Jan. 30, CYHSY just released a few tracks, including "Underwater (You and Me)," which was previously available only as a bootleg with a drastically different arrangement. This one leans more toward the Beach Boys than the Talking Heads but sounds exactly like neither. What do you guys think?
