When I talked with Heroes creator Tim Kring a few weeks back, I was surprised at how open he was about some of the criticisms that have fallen on his show this season. But that's nothing compared to all the apologizing the man's been doing lately. Last week, he called up Entertainment Weekly to offer his own, quite detailed critique of this season of Heroes. And now, he's promised that the string of episodes, including tonight's, that lead up to the Dec. 3 finale of Volume 2 will return Heroes to its first-season form — if not better.
Kring's critiques mirror many of the complaints you've had about the show this season — that it's too slow, there are too many characters, and Hiro needed to get the heck out of Japan. On the one hand, it's hard not to admire how open Kring is being about the shortcomings of his show and how willing he is to shake things up based on fans' reactions. On the other hand, I have to wonder why he didn't just make the start of the season better in the first place.
Regardless, tonight's episode may be Kring's biggest apology yet: It's essentially a do-over of the second season premiere. This time, Heroes is going into the past — four months ago, in fact — to fill in the gaps of what happened between the first-season finale and the present day. Here's a pretty thorough preview of what's coming up tonight, including a clip of Kristen Bell's second appearance as Elle. To check out a trailer for the episode, just read more

At least he can admit he was wrong and is trying to fix it unlike some other people who lost sight of their vision and things just went from bad to worse ABRAMS.
1It's O.K. Tim...I'm still watching it!
2I still love Heroes & haven't missed an episode yet! It has been slow, but I thought the first season started off slow too... it just kept getting better & better. Last week's episode was much better, so I'm sure the show will pick up from now on. I'm excited for tonight & to see all the gaps filled in! Yay!
3I'm watching it right now and I'm loving it!!
4Who cares? 24 is so much better!
5What's 24?
Anywho, I watched my Heroes this season diligently although, yes, it was sooo slow. Tonight's eppy WAS better! It was interesting. It was like an old west movie gunfight - pow!pow!pow! everytime you blinked there was another reveal! It's nice that Kring not only apologized but listened to the fans.
6At least he can admit he was wrong...!?
I have no complaints about this season. Some people are so hard to please.
7I honestly don't get why he apologized, I think Heroes is great! I love all the new people and I liked Hiro in Japan - I suppose I am with a small group of people who still loved the show the way it was but kudos and last nights episode... it was great seeing exactly how everything happened.
8Maybe if he stopped trying to copy Lost so much the show would be better! PUHLEASE, Lost is the master of filling in gaps with backstories and by going to the past. Heroes needs to do more origional things!
9i can't wait to watch heroes!! but i'm from europe and therefore i have to wait until it's available for downloading... and that's real hard... the waiting time is the hardest time...
10I’ve actually enjoyed this season. Sure, some storylines have moved a little slow but the eventual payoff has definitely been worth it. I can’t wait to see what the next few episodes have in store.
11To tell you the truth, I started watching Heroes from the very beginning. Then towards the end of the season, I just wasn't into it much, so I stopped following it.
Then when I heard Kristen Bell was going to be on this season, I started watching it and now I am hooked. I have been watching faithfully again. I really like this new season. Not too keen on Elle yet. I think they need to give her more air time and more dialogue. But I figure, it is their show, so they can do it how they choose.
12I actually thought it was a bit better than season 1, which didn´t have an exiting finale. I like that there are more young people in season two, but I must say that I am sooo bored whenever Hiro is on, no matter how sweet he is.
