I haven't seen/heard of Clark and Michael but he was so good on Arrested Development I'ma check it out.

The WGA has called for a boycott of all online content since that's really the crux of the strike. The writers don't get paid for anything that's delivered online, be it a free show on a network site (even though it's sponsored by ads) or a something you download on Amazon or itunes. So watching online-only shows pretty much defeats the purpose and who knows if there will even be news ones for much longer.

susanec — Totally true. I'm wondering more about shows that people make on their own and distribute through YouTube or MySpace, etc.

I voted other, becaus my answer is "Yes, if they're available outside the United States". All networks don't allow people outside of the US to watch their shows for free on their websites.

Youtube web series aren't generally written by WGA members, though. I know for a fact that the WNG guys are not, they're just three guys with a camera and an editing system in Astoria (that is, until they got picked up by CBS for a pilot). So while the strike is against web series being written by WGA members and online content from the networks, independent stuff is pretty safe to watch. Plus it's the only original content that you'll see if the strike persists.

Susanec — Are you the one who mentioned Pamie in the strike post yesterday? I was going to pop in there and say thanks for pointing people to her site. I love her stuff, and her writing on the strike has been pretty moving.

I agree with susanec. I support the writers and am boycotting official downloads and streaming video until they agree to compensate and credit the writers fairly. If I hear about a good one, I might try a user-made show, though.

Yep, that was me. I wasn't sure if I could link but I just think she's fab and her coverage of the strike is really great. Plus the blog is generally really funny. Her husband's site (which is linked in hers) is great too and has good perspective as well with more info.

i'll just start watching old shows i haven't seen before and movies.
