Okay, I love this show. It is so much more scandalous than The OC ever was, even during its glorious first season. That being said, this week's Gossip Girl still went for some of the standard teen show cliches. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I love that. This week (since I know you're on the edge of your seat), I'm squarely Team S & B both. In case you want to test your viewing comprehension skills, check out Geek's Tech Quiz, Fab's Fashion Quiz and Bella's Beauty Quiz on the episode. And now, here are my thoughts on our favorite Upper East Siders:

- Ah, young love. Nothing says teen like uncomfortable make-out circumstances. Thankfully, when I was in high school, there were no such things as camera phones or gossip blogs.
- Chuck wants to invest in a burlesque club. Come on now. "Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to be interested in something other than partying?" No, I don't know! Since middle school? Talk about high expectations. He's still in high school, not still living at home 10 years post-college.
- Serena and Blair are kinda awkward besties talking about sex. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed Dan's anxiety fantasies — kinda perfectly age appropriate in an odd way. Big "HA" to him watching porn for tips.
To read the rest of my thoughts (especially those about the shocking ending!) just read more
- I'm thankful that the Nate's dad drug thing is already about more than that. Not that I wish failure for the Archibald family, but the cocaine thing can only be interesting for so long. Nothing like a good (well, good for the viewer, bad for the family) financial scandal.
- When Vanessa comes in the window while Serena and Dan are making out, why does she not leave, like, immediately? I understand that she is supposedly in love with Dan, but I'm starting to not like her already.
- Jenny is good to be honest to Blair about the kiss with Nate, but she definitely should have known it would backfire. Thankfully Blair is strong enough to call Nate out on it. I kind of love Blair.
- Okay, does Serena kinda talk like she has her mouth full? Or braces? Am I crazy?
- Trying on the family engagement ring is a little aggressive, eh?

- The father/son relationships on this show could use some work. Especially Nate and his dad. And Chuck and his dad. And I'm thinking Dan and Rufus will hit rough spots, too.
- Seems odd that they randomly arrested Nate's dad for hitting Nate. Would the cops really step in like that right away?
- Could the Serena getting nervous and wanting to slow down thing have been more predictable? While making out to the sweet tunes of Elliott Smith? I'm not even criticizing. Even a show this risque isn't going to let the sweethearts sleep together before "it's time."
- Sad face for Jenny who goes to find her mom. Does that mean faceless mom Humphrey will be showing up next week? To meet Serena while hashing out familial issues?
- Gotta love daring, sassy Blair. You know...right up until the point where she decides to sleep with Chuck. Or does she? Certainly looks like it from the promos for this episode and the scenes from next week's. "You can't keep a bad girl down." Ruh-roh.
- Oh yeah, and remember that episode when I said I kinda liked Chuck? Um, I'm going to go ahead and take that back.
So what did you think? Were you loving this episode as much as I was? How do you feel about Blair's decision? I'm not sure I even hold it against her. How about Serena and Dan? Teeth hurt from sweetness yet?

it was amazing! the music was phenomenal...can't wait for next week!
1serena DEFINTELY talks like she's got stuff in her mouth. something is weird about her teeth. i generally don't love her. but i do love blair and i'm really glad she broke up with nate.
2i love this show.
1. i LOVE the fact that blair and chuck hook up...? b/c they had so much sexual tension from the get-go [sp?] ha. but it bugged me when, after only kissing for a millisecond, chuck asks "are you sure?" umm...about making out or going for the prize? seriously. typically it's lots of making out then leads into the whole awkwardish "uh...so...like....you sure?" ha.
2. dan and serena... kinda bla this episode. i wasn't very interested in their storyline.
3. vanessa bugs the SSHHHHHHHH****T out of me. seriously... if i walked in on two people about to get it on i would leave IMMEDIATELY...not just hang around. awkward.
4. i knew nates dad was doing some shady things other then blow.
5. with the strike happening, should we expect a sudden hault on all the new eps? or are there more to come?!
3serena talks like romy from romy and michelle's high school reunion. kind of boyish with a full mouth.
4Last night episode was great!! The music, the drama, everything!!
5I loved this episode so much that I'm planning on watching it again online today/tonight because I feel like I need to see it again to catch all the drama.
6I am like the only one who completely loves Chuck. He's my favorite character, besides Blair, of course. The two of them together at the end was perfect. I was already sooo happy about them being together and then bam my favorite song comes on while they're making out! 'With You' by Sum 41, a-mazing! Ahh, I'm loving it so much!
I'm totally making a group on here called 'I love C from GG' or something like that. All you Chuck lovers join it. =]
Likenicole - you're not the only one. I kind of love his character too. And I'm actually glad that he hooked up with Blaire at the end. Finally!
7IT WAS A GREAT EPISODE, SEEMS LIKE THE SHOW IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.
8No, really, there's lots of Chuck lovers! I like him and Blair together, because they're two softies that would never want you to know it. I hate Vanessa. She has no purpose on this show.
9And let me say, I love watching Nate suffer, it's hilarious. And so is his mom.
You're not the only one Nicole! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chuck! I can't say that enough, lol. And I've wanted Chuck and Blair together since the beginning. I loved the ending!!!
10I thought it was great episode.
11My thoughts:
-I do not like Vanessa in the least.
-Jenny is quite pathetic and really needs to step up her A game.
-Blair got mad brownie points for being honest with Nate and then letting her hair loose at the club and in the limo.
-Blair is too pretty! I can't take it!
-I like the saga between Blair's mom and Chuck's dad.
Loved the episode. Hate Jenny. She's supremely annoying to me. I thought Dan and Serena were adorable. I still don't like Vanessa. She's way too familiar with their family. And not in an endearing way.
I love Blair. She deserves someone that's attracted to her so I think it was fitting that she and Chuck hooked up. He seems like he was way more attarcted to her than Nate.
Sooo glad Nate's dad got arrested. I was hoping for that from the first episode. He needed to be knocked off his pedestal.
12And I love Chuck too. He's the sexiest guy on the show.
13I think Chuck is hot but he's such an ass that I don't root for him. I LOVED this episode. Loved. I am totally addicted now. And I think that Serena and Dan are incredibly cute and endearing.
14Yes, Serena does talk like she has her mouth full.. I don't know why but not a big fan of Blake. Blair/Leighton on the other hand is fabulous! Love her!
15I LOVE chuck. I'd clearly take him over sappy Nate any day. I'm mad that Blair takes back Nate in the next episode. Chuck needs love too! Also does anyone notice that for a school that has uniforms, they really wear whatever they want. I wish I had that luxury when I had to wear them!
16I didn't like the assumption that Serena and Dan would just hop into bed together. They were about to do it before Vanessa climbed in (yes she should have left and NO I don't like her)-- and they've only been dating for what? A week?
Good point about Chuck's dad's high expectations. I didn't like Chuck until this episode. Seeing his vulnerable side with his wanting daddy's approval and all sort of made me heart him, just a tiny bit.
I didn't like the highly sexualized tone of this episode. Blair doing burlesque? Come on. Begging for ratings, anyone? I hate the Pussycat Dolls and everything they stand for, (can't talk about Burlesque without mentioning the PD's)and Blair is so young it made me a little uncomfortable.
Yes, cops arresting dad on the spot = random and a bit of a stretch.
Liked the focus on the kids relationships with their demanding parents.
Vanessa bugs me.
Jenny seems to waver so much, I wish she would grow a backbone and a personality to match her cute self. She is like a non-person. Can't she do anything besides try to fit in??
17i like chuck, chuck is funny and i saw that get together with blair on the card from episode 1!
18oh man, LOVED this episode and when Blair and Chuck hooked up. You could just FEEL the sexual tension when they were in the same room together.
As for Jenny, i think she's a bit annoying but frankly, she's still too young to do anything besides try and fit in. Very few 14 year olds do their own individual thing and mean it (cuz let's face it, even if you were "alternative" as a teen you were still trying to fit in with that crowd!).
I actually like Blair and Chuck together more than Blair and Nate. She was always mad at him for something and her and Chuck are much more similar in personality (i.e. cold and calculating yet vulnerable underneath). MORE GOSSIP GIRL!!!
19i think when chuck asked blair "are you sure?" it might have been because she just broke up with nate and he wanted her to be sure she knew what she was doing --- which she might not have since it gets all scandalous next episode.
and i think the cops stepping in isn't too unlikely to stop a fight and since it was his son, it becomes an issue of domestic/child abuse and then nate told them to check his pockets and they found the coke.
20i love chuck. he's my fave character.
21yeokr... true. that makes sense about chuck and blair. afterall... chuck IS nates bff.
22this is what the humphreys mom looks like [according to the gossip girl//the cw website]:
http://imdb.com/gallery/hh/0592874/HH/0592874/040203Misner.jpg.html?path...
23while his dad was getting arrested it looked like nate passed some money to the doorman, so i'm wondering if maybe the doorman had already called the cops to tell them something was going down outside the building.
24i love love love this show!!!
i think Blair is fave. character
25and Nate (b/c hes soo nice and very handsome!)
im not a big fan Serena.. theres sumthing about her that i dont like. =/
i find the Humphreys very annoying
and Chuck, well hes "eh"
I think Dan and Serena are freakin adorable!!! And I'm über happy that Blair broke up with Nate! Good for her!!! I'm starting to actually lke her now. And Serena does talk like her mouth is full of marbles or sumthing. Its kind of annoying!
26Um...I think Chuck is absolutely great. Blair & Chuck are the best characters on the show.
27um I definitely thought it was creepy that when Vanessa was led to the door by Dan she came back in, looking longingly at Dan/Serena. She was much more headstrong in the books and this Vanessa seems like a whimp.
I really doubt that Blair lost her virginity to Chuck. Her desperately wanting to loose it to Nate is carried throughout most of the books, so I bet they just fooled around. Nonetheless, I like it! Chuck/Blair have great chemistry!
28im obsessed wit this show.
29blair is my favorite...is it bad i wish i was a teen manhattan socialite?
and im way excited all of the elenor waldorf collection is available online...and has anyone else read the books...because that leaves me to wonder if they are going to follow jennys plotline..
nate gave the doorman money so that the doorman wouldn't tell people about his dad being arrested for coke. he says it's to keep him mouth shut, or something to that effect.
30nomerz... blair did lose her virginity to chuck. check out "gossip girls blog" on the main "the cw" website. it talks about how she wasn't a virgin queen anymore. that she and chuck "did it" haha...it literally says that.
31When Nate passed the money to the doorman he said "My father went home sick" like he was paying the doorman to tell the story how he wanted. Still trying to save face in front of the Waldorf's.
32YES! Someone else noticed that Serena broad talks like she's got a mouth full of marbles.
I love Chuck I bet he slays like no other. At least Blair came off the blocks with a pro.
I hope this show is aware of how ridiculous it is (sort of an inadvertant comedy liek Ghost Whisperer) . Even the parents move in a three person circle. Chuck's pop is bonin' Marblemouth's mom, who's digging Dan's dad. Yeah...
33ugh, seriously? well that should make things interesting with all three of them! drama drama drama!
34LOVE CHUCK AND BLAIR
35I love Chuck so much and i really dislike Nate! i find he always has this sorta-dumb look on his face and he never says anything clever or funny. He's just sort of there. Mind you he is hot
36I loved Blair in this epi. Here red bow headband mad her look like Snow White
37i still like serena - i thought her and dan were cute. i liked blair much better when she dumped nate and went with chuck- i don't find chuck hot at ALL but at least he has a personality- albiet a manipulative one- nate has none. vanessa bugs me and jenny is ok- i know she is young so she makes sense a lot of times but i prefer her when she is acting strong. o and i really like the chemistry between serena's mom and dan's dad. what their history is might be the most intersting plot line of all.
38I love chuck to the bottom of my heart. I find him hot hot hot and sexy as hell. I also hate vanessa
39I love chuck to the bottom of my heart. I find him hot hot hot and sexy as hell. I also hate vanessa
40It was definitely the best episode yet, I love GG!
41OH MAN, I THINK I'M GETTING ADDICTED AGAIN TO A TEEN SHOW...
42i promised myslef never again after o.c., but gg's got me again...
can't wait for the next episode...darena's hot, blair and chuck are like minions, nate's storyline is kinda BORING BUT ANYWAY..IT'S TOO ADDICTING!
if cops seen an assault they would def step in ASAP i loved this episode i liked of risque it was, i totally love blair
43It's all about Chuck and Blair. It's ok to like Chuck...he's campy and sleazy...he's fabulous!
44How can you NOT like Chuck after this ep?! Now the only reason I will watch this show is for Blair/Chuck. They are the best thing ever, and that scene was so beautiful.
45hey does anyone know the name of the song that played at the end while blair and chuck were kissing?
46Come on, Serena, step it UP! It's not a good thing when I'm more interested in your mother than you.
Dan should have pushed Vanessa right back out the window. Don't even bother walking her to the door.
What happened to the Aaron Carter kid? Did Lily kill him? Eric, or whatever his name was?
47I LOVE the cinematography in this show. The filming during the Serena/Nate makeout scene with Dan and the ending with the running film with Blair and Chuck - Awesome.
48LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the Blair and Chuck scenes! That Leighton (don't remember her last name) is so gorgeous. I wish she and R-Bils would do a movie together!
And I feel like a dirty old lady saying this, but I would totally let Chuck take advantage of me!
49Btw, what's with all the Chucks on the new shows? There's one on Gossip Girl, one on Pushing Daisies and, of course, also one on Chuck. Am I forgetting one?
