Fans of The Amazing Race should give thanks to Viva Laughlin this week. The musical drama's quick cancellation paved the way for the Emmy-winning Race to return earlier than expected, starting with Sunday's premiere. This year's race covers about 30,000 miles and includes stops in Ireland, Lithuania and Croatia.
The 11 competing couples include a few of the usual suspects — a pair of blonde friends known as "the Farrahs," the "newly dating" couple who will surely be a wreck by the time this thing is over, and a father-daughter team trying to make up for years of lost bonding time. But there are some more intriguing characters, as well, including the grandfather/grandson team, the dating goths — yes, that's seriously how they're described — and the pair of lesbian Episcopal ministers.

the "dating goths" are TOTALLY from my hometown! i might just have to watch this show now, because i've seen them at clubs on multiple occasions... hilarious!

5the all-star season was my first full season to watch (i watched part of the previous year's), and i'm completely hooked! sooo stoked for sunday!
6I love the Amazing Race!!! It's like crack for me. I can't wait. For those of you who have missed the past seasons, the Game Show Network reruns them on occassion. It was rumored that they were going to cancel the race this year. I hope they never cancel it because I absolutely love it!!!

Anyone else wish the first leg of the race was an automatic non elimination? I wish they would let everyone get one round in before anyone had to go home.
