Pete Doherty generates more controversy than music buzz these days, but the former Libertines frontman is finally resurfacing as a rock star, and the results are good. On Tuesday his new band, Babyshambles, released its debut EP on Capitol Records, called The Blinding. This is great news for those of us who've been jonesing for Doughtery's signature boyish sass ever since the Libertines called it quits. Check out the video for the first single, also called "The Blinding," below. Pete isn't looking his best here, but he hasn't lost his flair for catchy, edgy riffs.

1this is great, i had actually only known of him from the whole kate moss thing but i never heard his music (at least not that i know of) until now... not too bad.
