This creepy wordless teaser trailer for the remake of Asian horror movie The Eye finds Jessica Alba playing a blind woman who gets her vision back. However, with her newfound sight she has also acquired the ability to see horrible supernatural things. The teaser makes the movie seem pretty scary, though utilizing quick edits, flashing creepy things and making the entire thing without any dialogue at all would probably make a lot of things seem scary. The movie opens February 1, so to take a look at the teaser trailer, read more

Erm, actually 'The Eye' is not Japanese, it's Taiwanese and Thai. The movie uses both Thai and Taiwanese actors. I know this because I'm from Thailand know for a fact that it most definitely is not Japanese. Cheers!
1Oops, scratch the Taiwanese part. It's actually Hong Kong and Thailand, not Taiwan.
2Good call, palepink! I changed the text. Thanks for the correction.
3Seriously I don't know about Jessica Alba. I LOVED the original Eye (seriously everyone watch it)and Jessica is not the best of actresses
4i agree jessness. the original was awesome. i was so bummed when i heard jessica alba was picked to play the lead. but i'm keeping my hopes up that this remake won't massacre the original.
5oh goodness jessica's wooden acting will ruin this for me. i think i'll just watch the original. seriously THE RING was the only excellent hollywood film that took the premise from an Asian horror film. and now hollywood should just stop!
6why her? jeez,,, they messed up by choosing her for this movie.
7Asian horror movies are best in their original form. The remakes are never as good, though I agree that The Ring was an exception.
8pinkflats; i have the original version. [of the eye];)
and i agree bout how the ring was well made; (Naomi Watts WOOOOT)
9Okay, on the top pic, I'm not sure whether Alba's trying to act angry or scared. It just looks like she's excited about something? I dunno.
I might give this movie a chance. Either this or the one with Hayden Christensen in it too. I highly doubt she'll prove herself to be a good actress though..
10Why do we need American versions of foreign films? Is the audience really that superficial that they only go to the movies because they wanna see actors/actresses they know? Can they not read subtitles? I don't get it.
11I can understand why they would do remakes of old films, since sometimes they seem "out of time" and that affects the credibility of the story, making it difficult for the nowadays audience to identify themselves with the characters and the story. But why remaking modern foreign films?
jessica sucks at acting,
12damn there are other great actresses
i'm gonna see awake not this one...
She is a good actress
13That was really cree-pee, even though I'm not a fan of Jessica Alba.
14According to IMDB, Parker Posey's also in it, so I might actually go watch it now.
15Well i've never watched it, i love horrors and will definetly be watching this!
16I too loved the original and was extremely disappointed that they would cast Jessica Alba in the remake.
17now if she'd just stick her head in the oven ala sylvia plath, i might be interested.

19looks great
20They remake foreign films because of their lack of originality or creativity. It's not always horror films that are remade. The Departed is an example.
21Asian horrors are scary, because the actors/actresses also have a frightening possibilty of being scary themselves with the black hair and features. Jessica Alba is too pretty and peachy to be horror.
22*man* I can't believe they are remaking "Jian gui"
I really wish Hollywood would stop remaking Asian Horror Movies, they ruin them! The beauty of the original films is that they are psychological, twisted, gory but when they get remade here in America they get dumbed down and ruined.
booo!!!!
23i loved the original, i thought it was scary when they flashed the ghosts after the girl had the eye surgery. i don't think jessica alba would be good for this movie though.
24this actually looks pretty decent and interesting, especially for a jessica alba movie
finally!
